As a Senior Product Designer for Deal Sourcing, you will be responsible for designing and delivering meaningful and impactful experiences for our customers and contributing to PitchBook’s market success. You will play a critical role in creating exceptional products for private equity investment professionals, empowering them to synthesize financial data, research, and insights to inform their investment strategies and achieve better outcomes.

As the user experience leader in Deal Sourcing, you will be responsible for crafting holistic and intuitive product experiences for our customers to conduct market analysis, develop investment strategies, and leverage PitchBook’s deep data, research, and insights to identify and execute deal opportunities to fulfill their investment objectives. With your expertise in all aspects of user-centered design, you will conduct research and analysis to understand user deal sourcing needs and critical activities, develop innovative concepts and designs, and leverage traditional and emerging technologies to bring them to life. In this role, you will partner with product and engineering team members through the entire product lifecycle and engage key stakeholders across the organization to ensure successful product strategies and solutions. 

You will be expected to own and deliver the Deal Sourcing user experience, optimizing deal sourcing touchpoints throughout the product portfolio, while collaborating with other designers and product team members to ensure a cohesive overall customer user experience. You will contribute to the direction and planning of the deal sourcing roadmap, helping identify and prioritize the biggest opportunities to support our users and the business, while maintaining a strong sense of product ownership and commitment to its success. You will be an active participant in our design culture, collaborating and supporting other designers, contributing to our evolving design system and standards, and leading or contributing to critical product design initiatives and programs. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Expertly utilize user-centered design and systems thinking skills in your day-to-day work to create solutions for complex data and user workflow challenges while maintaining a highly usable and scalable product experience
  • Conduct user research and data analysis to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivators that lead to engagement and realization of customer value
  • Develop robust information architectures, search and navigation systems, and content structures to optimize findability, navigation, efficient information consumption, and user decision-making
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering team members to understand customers and markets, identify high-impact customer and business problems, and define the product experience strategy and solutions to solve them
  • Develop customer journey maps, task and user flows, and design concepts to inform product strategies, priorities, and solutions that deliver customer and business outcomes
  • Translate abstract concepts into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, rapid prototypes, and final design executions 
  • Identify connections between product areas and features and collaborate to develop cross-team strategies and designs to deliver holistic solutions that create exceptional customer value
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of your design solutions and identify strategies for enhancement and improvement 
  • Drive continuous improvement in your work and with your product teams, seek new methods and practices that lead to greater impact and value 
  • Contribute to evolving design practices, tools, methods, and the design maturity of our organization 
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors 
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Design, Human Centered Design, Psychology, or equivalent 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Product Design/UX role, ideally in a large business or enterprise environment working on complex data and productivity solutions
  • Expert-level knowledge of user-centered design practices and demonstrated experience applying them to deliver end-to-end projects and achieve business and market outcomes
  • A portfolio of past work including concepts, ideation, flows, and completed designs that demonstrate expertise in information architecture, content strategy, and the ability to solve enterprise-level design challenges
  • Strong demonstration of strategic thinking, business acumen, use of modern design best practices, and ability to create innovative and meaningful experiences that deliver user value and business results 
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate and support design decisions and how they add value to the product 
  • Strong analytical skills, using qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions 
  • Experience balancing multiple projects, organizing priorities, and delivering with discipline
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, and a collaboration-driven interaction style with the ability to build relationships, foster trust, and develop a shared understanding 
  • Passion and enthusiasm for your craft and aspiration to excellence 
  • Proficiency with Figma and collaboration and analysis tools (Miro, Lucid, Mixpanel, Fullstory) 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $146,000-$175,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 12%

 

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

 

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
