Why you'll want to come to work:

PlayQ is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to spearhead analyses and provide meaningful insights into player behavior and engagement. You will leverage billions of data points from our games to build dashboards, answer key business questions, and tell compelling stories. This person will conduct in-depth analyses of our data, report on key game metrics, and provide recommendations that will have a direct impact in shaping future game development and company initiatives. The ideal candidate is an intelligent, sharp, detail-oriented, and highly quantitative individual who loves working with and analyzing data and is eager to proactively identify and answer the strategic questions that drive business success.

What you'll get to create:

  • Strategic Analysis Support: Assist in identifying key business questions and contribute insights that help shape game design, player engagement, and growth strategies.
  • Player Behavior Insights: Analyze player activity and trends to help the team understand and enhance the player experience.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams, supporting data-informed decisions across the company.
  • KPI Monitoring: Track and investigate KPIs, uncovering trends and root causes to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Ad Hoc and Feature Analyses: Fulfill data requests for new product releases, campaigns, and user acquisition.
  • Dashboard Development: Design dashboards that provide real-time visibility into KPIs and support game team strategies.
  • Data Integrity & Tools: Ensure data accuracy and assist in developing tools and processes for reliable analysis.
  • Stay Informed on Trends: Keep up with data and gaming analytics trends, contributing fresh ideas to the team.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or higher in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics or Computer Science..
  • Professional Experience: 2+ years in data analysis, preferably in tech or gaming.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Python/R for data analysis. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and exposure to data platforms like Snowflake or BigQuery is a plus.
  • Communication: Solid presentation skills with the ability to clearly convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Mindset: Eagerness to connect data insights to business objectives and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Problem-Solving: Curiosity-driven, proactive in identifying and tackling problems.

At PlayQ, we leverage competitive benchmarking data when setting each role’s base pay range. Individual base salary will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, scope of role, business need and geographic location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$90,000-120,000 USD 

Additional information:

  • In-office location: Santa Monica, CA
  • This role is open to remote employees located in select US states including California, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia.
  • This role is offered as a full time position.
