Get to know the role

  • Job Title: Sr. Project Manager, Revenue & Cost Accounting
  • Job Summary: Lead initiatives across multiple revenue streams to enhance revenue recognition, cost tracking, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, project management skills, and a collaborative mindset to drive operational improvements and ensure compliance. This role will also identify accounting and financial activities currently handled by various teams and work with business partners to centralize and streamline those processes. Additionally, the Project Manager will establish standardized processes, metrics, and reporting frameworks to support the strategic objectives of our B2C (eCommerce and Vending), B2B, consignment, apps, and events businesses.

What you’ll do

  • Lead cross-functional accounting projects related to revenue recognition and cost accounting.
  • Manage end-to-end project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications for revenue and cost initiatives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify new lines of business and processes and coordinate with accounting teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and accurate financial reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and automation efforts related to revenue streams and cost recognition.
  • Partner with internal business teams to ensure accurate revenue accounting in accordance with ASC 606 and relevant cost accounting standards.
  • Coordinate system and ERP (Oracle Fusion Cloud) enhancements related to revenue and cost modules; partner with IT on solution design and implementation.
  • Ensure internal controls over revenue and cost processes are designed and operating effectively to meet audit requirements.
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue and cost entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Accounting & Technical Expertise
    • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with direct exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606) and cost accounting principles
    • Demonstrated experience in complex, contract-driven accounting areas (e.g., revenue recognition, royalties, licensing, or similar)
    • Proven ability to interpret legal agreements and translate contractual terms into accounting treatment and operational processes
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred)
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting reuqirements
  • Process Improvement & Operational Excellence 
    • Strong background in process improvement, process design, and operational scaling
    • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) preferred
    • Track record of designing and implementing standardized, auditable, and scalable processes
    • Ability to identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Project & Stakeholder Management
    • Two (2)+ years of project management experience leading cross-functional accounting or finance initiatives
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence across Finance, Legal, Business, and Systems teams
    • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and building structure where it does not exist
  • Ability to travel up to 3 times a year internationally.

 

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $104,000.00 - $139,000.00 per year. The full range is $104,000.00 - $188,000.00 per year. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
