Position Summary
The Financial Analyst role exists to support Portal’s finance and accounting function as the company scales operations. The role’s responsibilities include manufacturing inventory management, financial reporting, forecasting, and financial statement analysis. This position works closely with the Controller, Senior Accountant, and Supply Chain team, onsite in Bothell, WA.
Core Responsibilities
- Reporting, Forecasting, and Analysis
- Build and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, KPIs, and dashboards across multiple systems to monitor and drive results
- Translate financial and operational trends into clear, actionable summaries for the Controller and senior leadership
- Support month-end and year-end close, investigating anomalies and material variances and summarizing conclusions for Controller review
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections, including building and maintaining supporting financial models
- Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting
- Maintain and reconcile manufacturing inventory records
- Track inventory and production costs
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure purchase orders, receipts, and vendor records are complete and accurate
- Research and resolve differences between inventory systems and the general ledger
What You Bring To Portal
- Financial automation experience, including dashboards, automated reporting, and AI-assisted workflows
- Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel for modeling, analysis, and data validation (plus Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Working knowledge of managerial and cost accounting
- Able to present and articulate financial data clearly to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
- Ownership and initiative, with a focus on improving financial reporting and operational efficiency
- High standards of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 1 + years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building financial automations, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows
- Exposure to manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting system
