The Role 

We are seeking a Vice President, Digital Strategy to lead innovative, data-driven digital work across a portfolio of clients, including those in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, food, and agriculture. This role is designed for a strategic thinker and digital innovator who thrives on solving complex challenges, shaping engagement strategies, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the evolving digital landscape.

The VP, Digital Strategy will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of audience-first, data-led digital strategies that drive meaningful engagement and deliver measurable impact. This includes leading content planning, channel strategy, influencer programming, and search and AI knowledge platform optimization. A critical component of the role will be advancing and evolving digital intelligence capabilities, with a focus on social listening, audience analysis, influencer identification, cultural and creative audits, and strategic monitoring to inform high-impact digital programs.

The ideal candidate will have a digital-first mentality and a track record of serving as senior counsel to clients on social and digital strategies while also remaining hands-on in executing those strategies. They should have a deep understanding of the tools, platforms, and methodologies that drive audience insights and engagement. They must also be forward-thinking, staying ahead of emerging trends and helping to translate them into innovative approaches that enhance digital programs. Our work spans corporate reputation management, executive thought leadership, campaign activations, and internal communications, requiring a leader who can seamlessly navigate between strategic consultation, creative execution, and relationship management.

This role is a key subject matter expert within the agency, responsible for championing our proprietary data engine and driving its evolution and adoption across teams. They will be expected to cultivate points of view on industry trends, provide strategic frameworks that elevate our approach to digital engagement, and work collaboratively across teams to implement bold, effective solutions for clients.

The VP, Digital Strategy will play an essential role in driving operational excellence while ensuring our agency continues to set the standard for best-in-class digital engagement.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as a senior digital strategy lead for clients, including those in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, food, and agriculture, providing expert counsel on audience-first, data-led engagement strategies.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of innovative digital programs, integrating content strategy, channel planning, influencer programming, and search and AI knowledge platform optimization to drive measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to design and implement integrated digital strategies that align with broader marketing and communications objectives.
  • Lead the development and refinement of digital engagement standards, policies, and toolkits, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across platforms and channels.
  • Champion and evolve the agency’s proprietary data engine, advancing digital intelligence capabilities through social listening, audience insights, influencer mapping, creative audits, and strategic monitoring.
  • Translate complex research, data, and analytics into actionable insights that inform content, engagement strategies, and campaign activations.
  • Stay at the forefront of social and digital innovation, leveraging emerging technologies and trends to enhance client offerings, optimize performance, and shape forward-thinking engagement strategies.

The Experience that will contribute to your success:

  • Have 8+ years in digital strategy, with a strong emphasis on social media, audience intelligence, and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience working on complex, highly regulated industries such as healthcare, food, agriculture, or financial services is essential
  • A proven track record of leading strategic, insight-driven digital programs that have delivered measurable impact, with experience in award-winning digital and social executions
  • Possess a thorough command of the social media and digital spaces (from shifting consumer platforms to new platform features to evolving applications of AI), sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation
  • Deep expertise in social media and digital ecosystems, including platform evolution, audience behaviors, influencer landscapes, AI-driven engagement, and emerging applications of digital intelligence
  • Ability to translate complex data and research into actionable insights that shape content, channel, and engagement strategies
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams, managing projects with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring seamless execution of integrated digital strategies 
  • Proven ability to navigate fast-paced, high-pressure environments, balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities with ease

The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
