Billing & Revenue Assurance Manager

Summary

PosiGen is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Assurance Manager to lead the transformation of our billing operations. This role will be critical in evaluating and modernizing our third-party billing vendor relationship, optimizing internal billing processes, and ensuring revenue accuracy across the board.

The Billing Assurance Manager will lead vendor assessment and management efforts, partner cross-functionally with internal teams, and manage a reporting analyst who handles current third-party billing data. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for process improvement, a passion for data accuracy, and the strategic mindset to support accounts receivable (A/R) and collections functions with actionable reporting.


Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluate current third-party billing vendor performance and technology capabilities.
  • Lead RFP or vendor selection process, as needed, to identify improved billing solutions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the billing vendor relationship, managing contracts, SLAs, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze and optimize end-to-end billing workflows to reduce errors and accelerate revenue recognition.
  • Implement authorization improvements and debit routing strategies while driving cost-efficiency improvements for payment processing.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, Customer Support, and Operations to design scalable billing processes aligned with company growth.
  • Provide analysis and strategic recommendations for optimizing payment method capture, transaction data, account updater, payment gateway, retry strategies, authorization response handling, and timing to deliver optimal payment processing and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline manual tasks
  • Oversee billing-related reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into revenue, aged receivables, and collection trends.
  • Develop reports and insights that support A/R, collections, and executive decision-making.
  • Manage analysts while providing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Monitor billing accuracy and ensure all services rendered are properly invoiced.
  • Lead periodic audits of billing data and customer accounts to identify gaps or errors.
  • Work with stakeholders to recover lost revenue and prevent future leakage.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in billing operations, revenue assurance, or finance, preferably in utilities, solar, or energy sectors.
  • Strong vendor management experience, including evaluation and implementation.
  • Experience with billing systems and data reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, or NetSuite).
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing or mentoring analysts or operational staff.
  • Analytical mindset with a process-improvement orientation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally to turn data insights into strategic decisions.
  • Experience in the solar industry or with utility billing systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with A/R and collections workflows preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Primary responsibilities involve regular speaking, listening, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, and reaching with arms.
  • Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.

Base Salary

$80,000 - $90,000 USD
