Solutions Engineer

Remote

Postscript is the AI messaging platform trusted by 20,000+ Shopify brands — including Brooklinen, Ruggable, True Classic, and Dr. Squatch.

With a mission to make SMS your number one revenue driving channel, we built the best-in-class SMS marketing platform and launched revenue-driving AI features not available on any other platform. And we're just getting started.

Backed by Greylock and Y Combinator, fully remote since 2018.

As a Solutions Engineer at Postscript, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and, of course, our customers to help our customers bring their conversational commerce vision to life. You will work with AEs and prospects to demo advanced use cases and successfully manage proof of concepts. You will work with our CSMs and Onboarding teams to ensure our customers can turn those proof of concepts into reliable, scalable SMS and email strategies. Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout all customer lifecycles, instilling confidence in prospects and customers by showcasing a deep understanding of both the product and the customer's business needs. Build a strong technical grasp of the Postscript platform, including its integrations and API capabilities, to provide well-rounded solutions for diverse use cases. You'll be the link between GTM and Product, ensuring that customers' requests are well documented and prioritized. As a Solutions Engineering team member, you'll also help create our solutions engineering playbooks and processes, with ample opportunity for career growth.

This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the US or Canada.

Primary duties

  • Become an expert on the Postscript platform, understanding all officially and unofficially supported use cases in detail and imagining what's possible
  • Help customers and prospects extend their strategy into email alongside SMS, and contribute to shaping best practices as this is a newer, evolving part of the platform
  • Use AI tools to accelerate discovery calls, demo prep, and technical content creation — and help customers understand how Postscript's own AI features can drive their results
  • Support the sales team in helping prospects understand what they can achieve with Postscript and successfully winning those customers
  • Leading technical discovery calls with prospects, offering creative solutions, discussing competitive landscape, and documenting new requests for Postscript's Product team
  • Work with account executives to prepare demos to showcase advanced capabilities of the Postscript platform and integrations
  • Execute the delivery of POCs for customers and prospects that have more complex use cases, collaborating with Postscript's onboarding and engineering teams as needed
  • Offer support and guidance to customers and partners looking to use our APIs for both standardized and custom product integrations
  • Creating technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or standard methodologies for new features, integrations, etc.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to our onboarding and customer support teams
  • Act as a creative problem solver, developing innovative solutions for unique customer needs
  • Collaborate with partners building technical integrations with Postscript, serving as a point of contact to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure a seamless integration that enhances the customer experience
  • Collaborate with partners building technical integrations with Postscript, serving as a point of contact to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure a seamless integration that enhances the customer experience

What We'll Love About You

  • You have at least 3 years in a revenue-driving, customer-facing technical role — solutions engineer, sales engineer, support engineer, or related
  • Ecommerce knowledge & past experience required, Shopify ecosystem highly preferred
  • Experience working with top-tier Shopify/ecommerce brands (enterprise in this space typically means high-GMV DTC or omnichannel retailers — not Fortune 500 scale)
  • You exemplify a "customer first" attitude
  • You are technical, comfortable with front end web technologies (JavaScript, CSS, etc.) and can create proof of concept product integrations using well-documented APIs
  • You're genuinely energized by AI — not just open to it, but excited by where it's headed. At Postscript, this isn't optional: we build our product with AI, sell AI-powered features, and use AI daily in how we work. You already use AI tools in your own workflow, you can speak to AI capabilities with real credibility in front of a prospect, and you'd rather be experimenting with what's possible than waiting to be told it's safe to try
  • Email marketing platform experience is a plus, especially if you've navigated deliverability, segmentation, or cross-channel orchestration
  • You are detail-oriented, naturally curious, and strive to be an expert in anything you spend time on
  • You're a strong cross-functional collaborator who can navigate relationships with Product and Engineering independently, not just alongside a manager
  • You're an excellent communicator, able to quickly translate complex technical ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences, on the fly, in remote and in-person settings
  • You work well under pressure and can confidently present to both executive and day-to-day stakeholders at our customers
  • Comfortable wading through the unknown — investigating and verifying answers to complex, undocumented questions is energizing to you, not draining

What You’ll Love About Us

  • Salary range of USD $120,000-$140,000 base plus variable compensation & significant equity (we do not do geo based salaries)
  • High growth startup - plenty of room for you to directly impact the company and grow your career!
  • Work from home (or wherever)
  • Fun - We’re passionate and enjoy what we do
  • Competitive compensation and opportunity for equity
  • Flexible paid time off

Postscript Demographic Questions and Categorizations

At Postscript, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity. We firmly believe that companies diverse in, for example, age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and perspective are better because of it. However, even beyond that belief, we simply want to strive for what's right.

For this reason, we are asking candidates to voluntarily self-identify through a few demographic questions. Our purpose in collecting this information is to help us assess our outreach efforts and diversity representation goals. Your responses will not be linked to your identity or your application, and neither recruiters nor hiring managers can see this information at an individual level. Your responses are stored in the aggregate and will not play any role in our hiring decision.  Your decision to participate or not participate in this survey will have no impact on your candidacy at Postscript.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
