We are seeking a Director/Sr Director of Business Development to help shape and drive our growth strategy. In this role, you’ll develop new partnerships, manage key client relationships, and lead efforts to bring Pow.bio’s innovative technology to market.

Your Role

As the Director/Sr Director of Business Development, you will leverage your expertise and industry network to cultivate meaningful partnerships, close impactful deals, meet our revenue goals and support Pow.bio’s mission to change scale-up forever. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align market opportunities with company objectives and help execute Pow.bio’s vision.

Responsibilities

  • Use BD expertise and industry connections to generate and execute deals that support Pow’s aggressive revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities by identifying and pursuing strategic business partnerships.
  • Lead negotiations, structure deals, and finalize agreements with customers and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial to develop and execute business development strategies that align with Pow.bio's growth objectives.
  • Support in identifying potential business opportunities, target markets, and emerging industry trends through comprehensive market research.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients and partners.
  • Support the team in developing innovative solutions and value propositions to meet customer needs and drive business growth.
  • Help maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and track progress using CRM software.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and executive teams, to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness and expand networks.
  • Assist in Brand Collabs with customers.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to identify, negotiate, and close high-level business deals (please include a deal sheet with context).
  • 10+ years of business development experience, biotechnology, synthetic biology, or a related field.
  • Experience in Biochemicals and Neutraceuticals industry is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. a plus).
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain strategic partnerships and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts in biotech, biomanufacturing, or synthetic biology.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms and deal execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to support senior executives in business development activities.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other business development tools.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to support travel requirements as needed.
  • Passion for Pow.bio’s mission to revolutionize scale-up and bring sustainable solutions to market.

Compensation and Benefits

Pow.bio offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

Base Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 plus bonus

Work Arrangements: Hybrid preferred, remote option will be considered for the right candidate.
