A day in the life:

  • The Senior Organic Search Strategist’s role is to create and execute on custom Organic Search strategies that align with the client’s KPIs using all aspects of Organic Search including on-page SEO, technical SEO, off-page SEO elements and informational SEO Content. Sr. Strategists are great communicators who can explain SEO and SEO Content strategies to various clients ranging from C-levels, and non-marketing POCs to SEO experts. Sr. Strategists explain the “why” behind the strategy in order to get strong buy-in from the client for speedy implementation. This person is a problem solver who pivots their strategy based on account performance leveraging both transactional/lead gen pages as well as article content when needed. Sr. Strategists are constantly learning about updates to Google’s algorithm and brainstorming new strategies to move the needle for clients. This person is a strong internal communicator who also delegates, mentors & coaches junior team members to grow their own skill sets

Responsibilities:

  • Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
  • Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
  • Create short term and long term strategic organic search roadmaps that quantify the traffic and/or lead/transaction impact that the strategy will have on the client’s business goals
  • Organic search performance deep dives during reporting (monthly/quarterly/yearly) and also when Algorithm Updates occur. Working with large data sets and making slides clear and digestible while tying the story back to our strategic efforts and providing actionable next steps as a result of performance
  • Explain organic search performance, how it assisted other channels in the funnel, how it affects the client's business, and recommended next steps. This includes being clear, professional and confident in your communication with clients and explaining the "why" behind Organic Search tactics
  • Delegate relevant workflow to Specialists and/or supporting strategists with clear expectations, relevant information, and timelines. Providing enough time to review the quality of the deliverables and providing the teammate with feedback (as needed)
  • Execute on more complex/outside of the box organic search deliverables that will help clients achieve their business goals
  • Make educated Organic Search goals & forecasts based on historical client context and current search landscape (and knowing when to adapt or re-forecast as needed)
  • Ownership of updating internal and external deliverable trackers to ensure projects and deliverables are moving along

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an SEO-based role
  • Advanced understanding of all aspects of organic search including on-page, technical, off-page, and SEO Content. Aligning SEO and Content efforts with priority business focuses. Work autonomously to think outside the box and craft custom organic search strategies as needed to help clients achieve their goals in an attempt to maintain client retention
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using analytical tools necessary for SEO performance and reporting including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, AHREFs, Moz, Screaming Frog, & others. Keeping up with industry best practices and changing SERP landscape
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback to team members who are supporting on accounts. Bonus if you have experience training other team members
  • Strong time management and organizational skills when it comes to road mapping strategy, planning deliverables, delegating tasks, and reviewing tasks
  • Proactive & solution oriented problem solver related to both client accounts and internal situations. You have a team-player mentality
  • Excellent storyteller with strong presentation skills to tailor messages to audiences, communicate complex topics simply, and deliver actionable insights and analyses

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Hit RPE success metric ($36k)
  • Below 10% Client Churn Rate
  • Range of the number of accounts (5-10)

Most Important Things (MITs)

  • Manage accounts with the highest workflow volume or complexity with positive feedback → primarily working on Enterprise and/or Growth accounts
  • Identifies biggest SEO and Content opportunities based off client goals & provides clear strategic roadmap for execution
  • Working with the team to delegate SEO/Content tasks and receive them back with enough time to review so that you are always hitting deadlines in regards to client workflow with minimal errors (no typos, grammatical issues). Strong attention to detail with minimal review from Account Managers and Account Directors
