A day in the life:
As an Associate Media Director, you will be responsible for driving performance, strategy, and account growth for major multi-channel paid media clients. You will report directly to the Group Media Director, who will assist with strategic development, planning, and team management, but you should own all media strategy, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting, and be comfortable leading a team and client communication.
As the Associate Media Director, you should have strong client-facing skills and be able to lead as the subject matter expert in internal meetings, client meetings, and pitch meetings with new client prospects. This is a client-facing role. You will have experience developing and deploying paid media strategies across multiple channels, guiding an internal team towards successfully driving business growth for clients, and confidently recommending strategies to clients and defending the work.
Responsibilities:
- Successful end-to-end management & strategic oversight of designated paid media accounts
- Meet pacing & KPI requirements for held accounts, ultimately working to move the goal posts & set improved performance expectations.
- Own all paid media strategy, project ideation, road-mapping & testing, leading the team with confidence & direction.
- Manage a team of 2-3 Media Supervisors, who themselves manage 1 Senior Media Manager each, guiding work, delegating tasks & working to develop their strategic & technical skillsets, and evaluating performance and sentiment through Power’s Nova platform.
- Work with Client Service Managers & the Group Media Director to identify client goals, priorities & efficiency requirements, ultimately improving Paid Media’s contribution to business success.
- Actively work to increase billing & channel support for existing media accounts & propose opportunities to expand media coverage for new accounts.
- Continually work to learn new strategies, test new platforms & expand our Healthcare division's paid media offerings.
- Function as the primary point of contact and escalation both internally & externally for all ‘owned’ accounts, responsible for the performance of accounts.
- Generate reports, write insights, & communicate with the client for designated accounts.
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of held accounts, including but not limited to optimizations, structural updates, bidding methodologies, conversion types, and copy revisions.
- Full ownership of Paid Media strategy for assigned accounts, working with the Group Media Director as needed.
- Drive strategic ideation on all accounts, designing & adjusting campaign strategies to meet each client’s business goals (and internal objectives).
- Design & deploy tests in accounts on a monthly & quarterly cadence (structural, targeting, creative & messaging, conversion, etc).
- Continuously test, verify, and improve full-funnel structures.
- Helping to develop effective use of AI tools to streamline workflows and improve performance.
- Other applicable or related duties as assigned.
- Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
- Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
Role Requirements:
- 6-8+ years of Paid Media experience
- Experience managing multiple paid media accounts with budgets ranging between $200K-$1MM per month.
- Experience driving paid media strategy, project road maps, media plans, competitive research, testing and measurement frameworks for clients across multiple media channels.
- Extensive experience in campaign management & strategy across Google & Bing platforms (Search, PMAX, Demand Gen, Youtube, Video, etc.).
- Experience with full funnel strategy, lead generation, driving brand awareness and measuring incremental lift.
- Experience with Google Analytics, GTM, conversion and optimization strategy (GA4 knowledge a plus).
- Ability to write ad copy, guide creative strategy, identify asset requirements and establish a creative testing cadence.
- Client relationship management experience. Reporting insights, identifying & optimizing towards client business goals.
- Team management, delegation, and development experience.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Managing a full workload indicated by $30K revenue/employee
- Pace within 98% of the budget goal
- Reach conversion goals within 95%+ of target
- 100% of deliverables / tasks completed on time (by specified due date) or proactively communicate if delayed
Most Important Things (MITs)
- Lead paid media strategy and client performance for 1-3 key accounts, in addition to supporting Supervisors and their Senior Media Managers on strategy and performance delivery on multiple additional accounts where they serve as the primary leads (delegated ownership).
- Excellence in channel production and account performance, with full ownership and accountability of client performance for their team’s client roster
- Mastery of internal and external reporting analysis, fully understanding and executing internal reporting requirements and the development and presentation of external client reporting
- Excellence in problem solving, client business goal interpretation, and strategic planning
- Strong client and team communication, leading structured team meetings and 1:1 meetings with team members on a weekly basis
- Delegation of ownership, work prioritization, and team development
