Growth Lead, Engagement & Retention
Prosper Health is on a mission to make life happier and healthier for autistic and neurodivergent adults.
Despite autism diagnoses increasing more than 5x in the past 25 years, autistic adults have been systematically overlooked. This has led to extremely poor outcomes, including high rates of co-occurring mental health conditions and a lower life expectancy. Prosper is here to change that.
We deliver specialized mental health services for autistic adults, covered by insurance. We've helped tens of thousands of people receive an autism diagnosis for the first time, work with neurodivergent-affirming therapists, and find belonging through community. Our outcomes meaningfully outperform traditional care for autistic adults, with substantially greater improvements in mood, anxiety, and quality of life.
Prosper is growing 3x year over year and are at mid-double-digit millions in run-rate revenue, with thousands of active clients and 400+ clinicians. We're a high-ownership, mission-driven team, building something that has never existed for autistic and neurodivergent adults.
About the Role
As our Growth Lead for Client Engagement & Retention you'll be both a strategic owner and hands-on operator responsible for building one of Prosper's most important unowned growth levers.
As we expand to four products and surpass $70M ARR, there is significant opportunity to improve how clients move through their journey with Prosper: from first engagement through scheduling, assessment to therapy transition, therapy retention, and reactivation. You'll bring structure to this opportunity by identifying the biggest growth opportunities, developing the strategy and systems to address them, and building an engine that supports clients throughout their entire lifecycle and scales with the business.
This is a unique opportunity at the intersection of strategy, growth, analytics, and marketing. You'll report to the Head of Growth Marketing, working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Clinical Operations to understand where clients are getting stuck in their journey with Prosper. Then, you’ll size each opportunity, determine the highest-impact interventions, and action those insights into measurable improvements.
You'll be Prosper's first dedicated Client Engagement & Retention hire and the strategic owner of the function. You'll have autonomy to define the strategic roadmap, establish the operating model, build the underlying systems, and ultimately determine how Engagement & Retention evolves as a core growth function.
You'll thrive in this role if you're equal parts strategist and operator: someone who can take an ambiguous growth problem, structure it from first principles, get into the data, develop a clear hypothesis, and then roll up your sleeves to build and test the solution.
You Will
- Own the client journey: Define how we engage clients across the full journey: from lead-to-schedule through onboarding, retention, and cross-product hand-offs. Identify the highest-impact opportunities and translate them into a clear roadmap and operating plan. Then, make them happen.
- Identify and size growth opportunities: Use client behavior, funnel data, and qualitative insights to identify where we're losing clients or leaving growth on the table. Size the opportunity, diagnose the underlying barriers, and determine the right intervention - whether that's a lifecycle campaign, funnel change, product improvement, or operational solution. You'll partner with Engineering, Product, and Clinical Operations on cross-functional solutions and directly build marketing-led interventions yourself.
- Build a rigorous experimentation engine: Develop hypotheses, prioritize tests, define success metrics, and establish a repeatable testing framework. Turn learnings into scalable improvements across the client journey.
- Build the lifecycle marketing infrastructure, hands on: Own the systems, segmentation, triggers, journeys, dashboards, and operating rhythms required to make lifecycle marketing a reliable growth engine. You'll be hands-on in platforms like Customer.io, but the focus is on building a scalable engine that delivers the best, most cohesive client experiment vs. simply executing campaigns.
- Create and optimize client communications: Develop thoughtful messaging across email, SMS, and future lifecycle channels. Use customer psychology, experimentation, and performance data to continuously improve engagement and conversion.
- Build the function: Establish the processes, metrics, documentation, and ways of working that allow Client Engagement & Retention to improve and scale as Prosper grows. Over time, build the team and capabilities needed to support the function.
About You
- 5–8 years of experience in strategy, consulting, growth marketing, product, business operations, and/or another highly analytic operating role. You’ve worked at a high growth consumer start-up. You may have started in consulting or investment banking and are now a product marketer, growth product manager, or other highly analytical + customer oriented strategic operator.
- Structured strategic + iterative problem solver. You build structure to make experimentation fast and repeatable. You can take an ambiguous growth question, structure it, identify the key drivers, and determine where to focus.
- You are analytically rigorous: You're comfortable working with funnel and customer data, sizing opportunities, building models or analyses, and translating insights into actionable decisions. You can turn a sea of data into a single, clear insight or client segment.
- You crave ownership. You are ready to build a function from scratch, setting the strategic direction, owning the outcomes end-to-end, identifying the right inputs and levers to achieve our goals. You are ready to own everything from the long term strategy to the cross-functional problem/solution diagnosis to the execution of a single email.
- Hands on Learner: You’re willing to roll up your sleeves and learn how to operate in customer.io, establish trigger logic, do your own copywriting, and build a continuous experimentation engine.
- You are customer-obsessed: You always put the client first, understanding their POV, and prioritizing their needs across their entire lifecycle with Prosper. You will do whatever it takes to understand our clients better - whether it’s calling them yourself, running scrappy surveys, or scouring Reddit.
- Mission-driven. You’re excited by the chance to make meaningful, category-defining work that improves access to care.
