Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Band 3 Pharmacy Dispenser to join an Outpatient Dispensary team within a busy NHS Trust. This is a patient-facing role requiring excellent customer service skills and a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures. The successful candidate will support the provision of a high-quality, patient-focused dispensary service and contribute to the safe and efficient supply of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the provision of a high-quality outpatient dispensary service.
- Accurately dispense clinically checked prescriptions and perform in-process accuracy checks.
- Validate, label, and issue prescriptions in line with departmental procedures.
- Use the Electronic Patient Record system to manage and print prescriptions.
- Manage stock control, including ordering, expiry checks, and rotation.
- Provide medication information and customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Meet the minimum education requirements outlined by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) for Pharmacy Assistants/support staff.
- Have experience working in a pharmacy dispensary setting (NHS experience desirable).
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
- Be confident using electronic systems and handling patient data.
- Be proactive, organised, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
