Principal Enterprise Architect
Overview
Pure Storage has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Principal Enterprise Architect to join the Digital Transformation Group (DTG). DTG is a function critical to the continued success and growth of Pure Storage. Its charter encompasses driving growth and achieving faster business outcomes through IT. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture, this person will be working with business, and technology teams to establish the current state architecture baseline, proposed future state architecture, and business capability roadmaps. They will also work with domain experts in various areas across the enterprise including corporate functions such as Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Legal to establish architectural best practices and guide solution architects to ensure proposed designs are aligned with the established architecture best practices. They may also be responsible for other areas such as GTM/CX. Additionally, they will continuously be looking for newer tools and solutions to advance the current architecture.

What will you do?
- Partner with business leaders and application owners to establish the architecture function to support transformation programs that include the QTC and ERP domains
- Guide them to document current state architecture, establish future state architecture and develop multi-year business capability roadmaps in alignment with business strategy and vision
- Collaborate with Domain Architects to establish standards and guidelines for various sub domains and platforms
- Guide Solution Architects through the solution of various business initiatives
- Be an active member of the Architecture Governance process to ensure alignment of solutions to established architectural standards and resolve any deviations
- Provide advisory service on evaluation of tools & technologies
- Continuously monitor industry trends and share assessment of their potential business benefits & impact
- Participate in architecture advisory processes and contribute to the enterprise portfolio management strategy
- Share thought leadership in architecture communities within and outside Pure Storage
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
We are seeking an exceptionally qualified and motivated architect with a strong background in enterprise architecture and experience in working on large scale & complex transformation initiatives spanning QTC and ERP. You have demonstrated the ability to adapt to rapid changes in a growing and changing environment. As an influential architect and thought leader, you have the knowledge and ability to earn business stakeholder’s trust and are able to establish the best architecture for the business needs.
Desired qualifications and attributes
- Minimum of 10 years of architecture experience across Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture and Solution Architecture
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong understanding of architecture methodologies and modeling techniques and familiarity with one or mode of key architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman Framework, Gartner, or equivalent
- Prior experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, or information analysis in a multi platform environment.
- Knowledge of business platforms and ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
- Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies
- Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Practical in approach to problem solving and decision making
- Experience working in fast paced agile environments in an architect capacity
- Experience with Architecture tools such as LeanIX, Ardoq, Abacus, etc
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
The annual base salary range is: $199,000 – $299,000.
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
