THE ROLE

The Data and Analytics (DNA) organization at Pure Storage is looking for a Sr. Manager, Master Data Management & Data Governance to help Pure harness the potential of our data assets to optimize business operations and enable smarter decision-making. In this highly visible role, this individual will set the overall vision, formulate critical data management strategies, and lead governance, process design, and stewardship across key enterprise data domains including Customer, Product, Asset and Vendor. This person will partner closely with business and technology leaders to identify and prioritize use cases, establish policies and standards, and develop data quality controls to ensure business-critical data is always complete, accurate, governed, and accessible.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Set the enterprise vision and strategy for key master data domains — including Customer, Product, Asset and Vendor — defining long-term goals, governance structures, and stewardship models aligned with corporate objectives
  • Lead the design, implementation, and governance of a comprehensive MDM program focused on lifecycle management, standardization, and data stewardship
  • Direct cross-functional collaboration with leaders in operations, engineering, supply chain, finance, IT, and services to define data standards, ownership, and accountability frameworks
  • Chair and co-lead governance councils (e.g., Customer Data Council) to drive sponsorship, enforce policy adoption, and monitor compliance
  • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide policies and controls governing master data quality, integrity, compliance, and accessibility to support regulatory and business requirements
  • Oversee integration of master data into ERP, service management, CRM, and analytics platforms to ensure consistency across geographies and business units
  • Review and approve strategic designs and requirements, ensuring alignment between enterprise systems, processes, and MDM objectives
  • Institutionalize data assets including lineage documentation, data catalogs, data dictionaries, and metadata standards to improve corporate data literacy
  • Oversee program performance, budgets, and risk management, ensuring timely delivery, proactive mitigation of risks, and executive reporting on impact
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to data stewards and professional staff to ensure alignment with business priorities and development of talent
  • Act as a senior representative of the Data & Analytics organization, influencing enterprise transformation initiatives and driving adoption of global MDM strategy

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data management, with at least 5 years directing Master Data Management programs through full lifecycle global implementations. Experience at Big 4 consulting firms, preferred.
  • Expertise in industry-leading Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality tools such as Reltio and Informatica is highly desirable
  • Deep expertise across enterprise master data domains -  Customer, Product, Asset and Vendor  — with the ability to design scalable governance and stewardship models for each.
  • Demonstrated success integrating MDM with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, PLM, analytics platforms) to drive enterprise-wide business transformation
  • Preferred experience leveraging AI-driven automation and analytics to shape the future of MDM and deliver transformative business outcomes
  • Recognized thought leadership in data governance and management frameworks, with ability to define, implement, and influence enterprise standards
  • Extensive program management experience at the executive level, including accountability for cross-functional teams, vendor/partner engagements, budgets, and senior stakeholder relationships
  • Balances collaboration and decisiveness, aligning diverse stakeholders while ensuring timely decision-making.
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills, with ability to convert technical complexity into business impact
  • Outstanding executive communication and presentation abilities, with experience influencing C-suite and board-level stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is:

$205,000 - $308,000 USD
