PURPOSE...
The Engagement Manager leads complex customer engagements with clarity, structure, and strategic insight. This role owns proposal and bid workstreams, coordinates cross-functional contributors, and ensures high-quality, competitive responses to customer needs. Through disciplined discovery, strategic framing, and strong documentation practices, the Engagement Manager drives alignment across stakeholders, mitigates risks early, and maintains consistent progress toward shared outcomes. Success in this role requires exceptional communication, analytical rigoUr, consultative capability, and the ability to operate autonomously while guiding teams through ambiguity.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
Proposal Leadership & Quality Execution
- Owns proposal workstreams and elevates overall quality and consistency across contributors.
- Refines messaging to address customer requirements, evaluation criteria, and competitive differentiation.
- Improves turnaround times through effective coordination, structured workflows, and clear communication.
- Ensures all deliverables are cohesive, accurate, and aligned to customer expectations.
Customer Engagement Management
- Coordinates customer engagements with predictable cadence and clearly defined structure.
- Aligns internal and external stakeholders, ensures clarity in roles, and mitigates risks early in the engagement cycle.
- Maintains steady progress toward shared goals by monitoring timelines, dependencies, and cross-functional contributions.
- Ensures engagement activities remain outcome-focused and strategically grounded.
RF(x) & Strategic Bid Management
- Manages RF(x) development with precision, ensuring clarity, competitiveness, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Tailors responses to customer objectives and evaluation frameworks, compressing bid cycles where possible.
- Drives cohesive, high-quality submission packages that reflect strong strategic and operational understanding.
- Coordinates cross-functional inputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and strategic consistency.
Engagement Leadership & Team Alignment
- Guides engagement streams with autonomy, clarifying expectations and aligning teams around shared objectives.
- Drives accountability and clarity across contributors, ensuring smooth execution and timely progress.
- Identifies and removes barriers to execution, enabling momentum and supporting informed decision-making.
- Provides structure and direction in ambiguous or rapidly shifting customer environments.
Strategic & Commercial Insight
- Applies insight into customer strategy, competitive dynamics, and operational risks to shape engagement choices.
- Frames recommendations within the context of broader industry trends and business drivers.
- Advises internal teams on strategic considerations that strengthen competitiveness and customer alignment.
- Uses strategic insight to enhance proposal positioning, engagement design, and value articulation.
Consultative Discovery & Insight Development
- Conducts tailored discovery with multiple customer functions to validate assumptions and uncover operational or strategic drivers.
- Synthesizes findings into clear guidance that informs engagement direction, proposal refinement, and solution positioning.
- Connects qualitative and quantitative insights to customer priorities, ensuring deliverables reflect real value drivers.
Adapts discovery methods to different stakeholders, contexts, and levels of complexity.
Governance, Documentation & Deliverable Quality
- Produces well-structured, customer-ready outputs with verified data, clear assumptions, and sound documentation practices.
- Maintains strong governance across deliverables, ensuring accuracy, version control, and "auditability".
- Upholds consistency and quality across multiple contributors and complex proposal packages.
- Establishes documentation standards that support repeatability and scalable engagement motions.
Communication, Influence & Executive Alignment
- Presents concise, audience-aware narratives that support customer understanding, alignment, and decision-making.
- Uses logic, evidence, and strategic framing to guide discussions and overcome resistance.
- Communicates effectively with executives and cross-functional leaders, aligning diverse viewpoints into a coherent path forward.
- Tailors messaging to executive personas and situational context to maximise impact.
Learning Agility & Adaptability
- Learns quickly across diverse customer, industry, and engagement contexts.
- Applies new tools, processes, and insights with minimal support.
- Adapts effectively to changing priorities, unfamiliar challenges, and evolving customer expectations.
- Consistently incorporates new knowledge to improve engagement execution and bid competitiveness.

- Strong ability to lead proposal development, produce high-quality deliverables, and ensure cohesive, competitive submissions.
