Job Title: Assistant Accountant (Invoicing & Month-End Close Specialist)

Location: Remote, East Coast based (may be required to visit the Boston office on an ad-hoc basis)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling invoicing, supporting month-end close activities, and performing ad-hoc accounting tasks across various entities. The position requires an individual who is adept with Microsoft Office, Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with internal team members to identify and resolve outstanding documentation issues (e.g., vendor registration, purchase orders, signed statements of work).
  • Process invoicing for multiple entities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed to support various departments and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and efficient accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoicing and payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in invoicing, month-end close, and general accounting tasks.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with multiple entities and multi-currency transactions.
  • Experience with supplier portals e.g. SAP Ariba, Taulia, Coupa, etc.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
