Summary
QuEra Computing, Inc. is seeking a talented and driven Postdoctoral Fellow with a background in quantum physics and quantum error correction to contribute to QuEra’s neutral atom quantum computing research and innovation efforts. This role is a fixed-term assignment. The ideal candidate will help develop new quantum computing applications, design and evaluate custom error correction protocols, thus exploring approaches that inform both near-term applications and long-term neutral atom architectures. This is a unique opportunity to influence the design direction of one of the state-of-the-art quantum computing platforms while working in close collaboration with QuEra scientists, engineers, and product teams in an industry setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate novel quantum error correction architectures and protocols.
- Drive the co-design of quantum applications and neutral atom hardware to maximize computational performance.
- Collaborate with the experimental teams to develop and guide experimental protocols and interpret experimental results.
- Contribute to research papers, technical publications, and patent filings.
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and external scientific outreach (e.g., conferences, workshops. etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in physics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- A background in quantum computing and quantum error correction.
- Expertise in circuit-level quantum error correction simulations.
- Proficiency with numerical tools (stim, qiskit) and prototyping software (crumble, quirk).
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications in the relevant fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with neutral atom platforms, including principles of digital neutral atom hardware operation.
- Experience analyzing quantum simulation algorithms and their application context.
- Hands-on experience with HPC environments for large-scale numerical simulation.
- Motivated to translate fundamental research into commercial quantum technologies.
