As a Brand Writing Specialist at QuillBot, you’ll be the bridge between our brand and our customers, fostering meaningful engagement through the written word, amplifying user-generated content, and ensuring our community is thriving online.

As we rapidly expand, we’re looking for a Brand Writing Specialist to help shape and scale the voice of our growing brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Management (40%)
    • Identify and strategically participate in trending conversations across social platforms, positioning QuillBot at the intersection of technology, language, and work.
    • Build and nurture relationships with community members, power customers, and advocates, encouraging organic conversations and advocacy.
    • Monitor online discourse for emerging trends, sentiment shifts, and user feedback to inform product and content strategies.
    • Surface and amplify user stories, testimonials, and cultural moments that highlight QuillBot’s role in empowering better writing.
    • Create response playbooks and guidelines for high-impact community discussions, user-generated content, and real-time engagement opportunities.
    • Track and report key engagement metrics to continuously refine our approach to community participation.
  • Content Creation & Ideation (30%)
    • Own QuillBot’s presence on text-forward platforms like Reddit and LinkedIn, ensuring our brand is actively engaging in relevant discussions in interesting ways.
    • Partner across the social and influencer teams to develop content ideas that are deeply rooted in community insights, utilize your knowledge of hooks, storytelling techniques, and platform-specific algorithms to optimize content for virality and engagement.
    • Work closely with designers and creators to develop community-driven content ideas (motion graphics, carousels, scripts), ensuring brand storytelling is compelling and shareable.
  • Copywriting (30%)
    • Write and refine copy across QuillBot’s owned web properties, lifecycle marketing emails, and user-facing communications, ensuring clarity and brand consistency.
    • Develop and maintain messaging frameworks in partnership with the Director, Brand & Communications, aligning storytelling across marketing and product experiences.
    • Collaborate with content, linguistics, and UX writing teams to ensure a cohesive brand voice throughout the customer journey, from acquisition to in-product interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years in a social role with credible experience writing across web and social.
  • Portfolio: proven track record of writing that spans from social captions to community engagement to large-scale campaigns.
  • Skills: sharp attention to detail, strong conceptual thinking, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to balance creativity with strategic objectives.
  • Culture savviness: deep understanding of cultural trends and how to translate them into relatable content that builds brand fame.
  • Collaboration: proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, soliciting and integrating feedback effectively.
  • Adaptability: ability to pivot with changing priorities while maintaining creative standards.

Bonus points:

  • A strong command of writing and a love for language.
  • Experience shaping a brand voice across digital platforms.
  • Aptitude for using AI tools to increase productivity and maximize output.
  • A knack for translating cultural trends into engaging, on-brand messaging.
  • Exposure to SEO and UI writing, with a willingness to refine these skills.
  • Writing samples that showcase creativity, strategic thinking, and adaptability.
  • Curiosity about how language, culture, and communication evolve—and the role AI plays in the future of writing.

This role is eligible for hire in the United States. 

We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, and India. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.

$71,000 - $129,000 USD

In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is as follows.

$71,000 - $109,000 USD

In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is as follows.

New York Pay Range

$71,000 - $122,000 USD

In accordance with Washington law, the base salary for this role if filled within Washington is as follows.

Washington Pay Range

$71,000 - $116,000 USD

In accordance with Illinois law, the base salary for this role if filled within Illinois is as follows.
