Real Chemistry is seeking a Senior Director, Client Experience Media to join our growing team!
The Senior Director, Client Experience Media Strategy & Planning is a senior strategic leader responsible for developing and elevating audience-first media strategies across a portfolio of healthcare clients. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, guiding integrated planning, investment strategy, measurement frameworks, and omnichannel media recommendations that drive meaningful business outcomes.
The Senior Director partners closely with the Client Experience, Activation, Analytics, Creative, and Strategy teams to ensure media plans are grounded in audience insights, aligned with brand objectives, and tied to measurable performance. They are responsible for advancing planning excellence across the organization, mentoring future leaders, and bringing innovative thinking that positions Real Chemistry and our clients at the forefront of an evolving healthcare media landscape. This is a hybrid role based in any of our U.S. offices—including New York, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or Lambertville—or working remotely within the U.S., depending on team and business needs.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Lead media strategy and integrated planning across a portfolio of healthcare clients, ensuring plans align with business objectives and audience needs.
- Serve as the senior strategic lead for media planning engagements, guiding annual planning, launch strategies, investment allocation, and measurement frameworks.
- Translate complex market dynamics, audience insights, competitive intelligence, and performance data into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Drive audience-first omnichannel planning approaches that connect HCP, patient, caregiver, and consumer engagement opportunities.
- Champion innovation and identify emerging media opportunities, technologies, and measurement solutions that create competitive advantage for clients. Manage and mentor junior team members, providing oversight, feedback, and workload direction
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments with professionalism, sound judgment, and strong collaboration skills
Client Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, leading strategic discussions and influencing media investment decisions.
- Present recommendations, performance insights, and future planning opportunities to executive-level client audiences.
- Build long-term client relationships through strategic consultation, proactive problem solving, and consistent delivery excellence.
- Partner with account leadership to identify growth opportunities across existing client relationships.
Planning Excellence & Measurement
- Establish planning standards, best practices, and quality control processes across assigned client teams.
- Guide budget allocation, channel strategy, audience prioritization, and KPI development to maximize business impact.
- Partner with Analytics teams to develop measurement frameworks that connect media performance to business outcomes.
- Foster a test-and-learn culture focused on continuous optimization and media effectiveness.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers across the planning organization.
- Provide strategic oversight and planning guidance across multiple client teams.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and media capability growth.
- Contribute to agency thought leadership, training initiatives, and planning best practices.
Business Growth
- Support new business efforts through strategic media leadership, pitch participation, and development of differentiated media approaches.
- Contribute to Real Chemistry's media vision by advancing planning methodologies, audience strategies, and measurement capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of media strategy, planning, and investment experience, with significant healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing teams and developing talent.
- Deep expertise in omnichannel media strategy, audience planning, and integrated communications planning.
- Strong understanding of healthcare media ecosystems across HCP, patient, caregiver, and consumer audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead complex, multi-channel media strategies tied to measurable business outcomes.
- Experience building measurement frameworks and translating performance insights into strategic recommendations.
- Proven success in influencing senior stakeholders and presenting to executive-level clients.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation, media research, attribution, marketing effectiveness, and emerging media technologies.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence cross-functional teams, and drive alignment within complex matrixed organizations.
- Experience contributing to agency growth initiatives, thought leadership, and new business efforts preferred.

Pay Range: $140,000 - $165,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities.
