Your work will change lives. Including your own.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Global Program Manager, you will be integral to our Clinical Development projects, working closely with the Program Lead to deliver upcoming programs within approved timelines, budgets and resources from Development Candidate (DC) through the clinical lifecycle. You will work in a matrix environment with the Program Lead and project team, facilitating colleagues and subject matter experts to deliver drug development programs, using project portfolio management tools to their full potential to keep projects organised. This role offers a strong foundation for growth in program and project management within TechBio, providing exposure to cross-functional teams, strategic decision-making, and program execution.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead program and other cross-functional meetings to ensure accountability and progress; you’ll manage scheduling, agendas, action items, delegation, and deadlines.
  • Document key decisions made during program and team meetings, including decision rationale, impacts, and stakeholders involved.
  • Manage a centralised decision log for action, decision and risk, identifying and categorising potential risks based on likelihood and impact. You’ll drive appropriate follow up, dissemination, mitigation and awareness, enabling easy reference for all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the preparation of slide decks for program updates, internal reviews, and governance meetings.
  • Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date, properly organised and accessible, maintaining shared folders and collaboration platforms for effective information sharing.
  • Manage the overall program budget, coordinating resources from functional project managers for implementation into financial and planning systems.
  • Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and operational tasks as needed, raising potential opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of Investigator Brochures as needed.
  • Collaborate with Discovery Project Managers for seamless transition to the Development stage.

The Team You’ll Join

You will join a highly motivated team of Drug Development Program Managers within the Business Operations department. This group works in close collaboration with the Clinical Development department to enable assets from Discovery to progress into Clinical Development and it’s life cycle.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD in Life Sciences, Business, or another related discipline.
  • 6+ years experience within a pharmaceutical or biotech R&D environment, including 5+ years experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, cross-functional colleagues, and external partners using strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with planning and project management software.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting activities for drug development projects.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with ability to see the bigger picture, work to tight deadlines, multitask, and work independently. Strong attention to detail is key in this role.

Working Location:

This position is ideally based at one of our offices located in London or Oxford, however we also will consider remote work in the UK for this position and ask that remote employees commit to regular on-site visits for routine work and departmental events.

The Values That We Hope You Share:

  • We Care: We care about our drug candidates, our Recursionauts, their families, each other, our communities, the patients we aim to serve and their loved ones. We also care about our work.
  • We Learn: Learning from the diverse perspectives of our fellow Recursionauts, and from failure, is an essential part of how we make progress.
  • We Deliver: We are unapologetic that our expectations for delivery are extraordinarily high. There is urgency to our existence: we sprint at maximum engagement, making time and space to recover.
  • Act Boldly with Integrity: No company changes the world or reinvents an industry without being bold. It must be balanced; not by timidity, but by doing the right thing even when no one is looking.
  • We are One Recursion: We operate with a 'company first, team second' mentality. Our success comes from working as one interdisciplinary team.

Recursion spends time and energy connecting every aspect of work to these values. They aren’t static, but regularly discussed and questioned because we make decisions rooted in those values in our day-to-day work. You can read more about our values and how we live them every day here.
