Your work will change lives. Including your own.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Senior AV Engineer at Recursion, you will ensure seamless communication and collaboration experiences across our offices. You will take ownership of the health and performance of our conference rooms, AV infrastructure, and large-scale company events. From managing weekly all-hands meetings to proactively maintaining and improving Logitech and Google Meet hardware, your work will directly support Recursion’s mission to decode biology by ensuring that our teams can connect and collaborate without friction. You will also manage relationships with external AV vendors, provide strategic recommendations for technology improvements, and deliver reliable, high-quality experiences for both in-person and hybrid meetings.

This is a customer-facing role. You will be the front line of support for conference room technology and events, the face of IT whenever AV support is needed. Success in this role requires a strong customer service mindset, the ability to support executives and staff with professionalism under pressure, and a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality experiences.

When you succeed in this role, our meeting spaces will be dependable, our all-hands events will run smoothly without disruption, and employees will view AV and collaboration technology as a seamless extension of how they work.

In this role, you will:

  • Conference Room Operations: Manage and monitor AV hardware across onsite conference rooms, ensuring reliability, usability, and uptime. Be the go-to contact for any AV-related issues.
  • Event Support: Lead AV setup, coordination, and live support for weekly all-hands and other high-profile events, providing calm, professional service in front of executives and large groups.
  • Hardware & System Maintenance: Proactively test, validate, and maintain Q-SYS, Logitech, and Google Meet hardware. Apply updates, resolve issues, and minimize downtime.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track system health, uptime, and usage metrics. Deliver recommendations for upgrades, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT Operations, Facilities, and leadership teams to design, deploy, and maintain scalable, modern AV solutions.
  • Documentation & Training: Create clear runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and user training to empower employees and ensure consistent standards.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Identify new tools, workflows, or practices that elevate collaboration and enhance the user experience.
  • Travel: Provide AV support at Recursion’s NYC office approximately twice per quarter.

Success in this role will be defined by:

  • Employees and executives experience seamless, frustration-free meetings in all conference rooms.
  • Weekly all-hands and high-profile events run reliably with no major disruptions.
  • AV systems are proactively maintained with minimal downtime and clear reporting on uptime metrics.
  • Users consistently view AV support as responsive, professional, and customer-focused.
  • Documentation and training empower end users and IT teammates to resolve common issues quickly.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of progressive AV engineering experience in enterprise or large-scale environments.
  • Deep knowledge of AV hardware and collaboration platforms, including Logitech, Google Meet, and Zoom.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale meetings, livestreams, and hybrid corporate events.
  • Experience monitoring AV system health and uptime using proactive monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Familiarity with conference room standards, AV integrations, and best practices for hybrid environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve complex AV issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
  • Willingness to travel twice quarterly to support events at remote offices.
  • Preferred: Experience with enterprise IT operations, networking, or cloud collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.).
