This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Legal Operations Senior Associate, joining our Legal Team, joining our Legal team to help us propel our team mission, namely: supercharging our business through the provision of excellent legal advice and solid legal processes and reporting to the Legal Ops Manager.
As a senior member of the Legal Ops function, you'll play a critical role in building and scaling the infrastructure, workflows, and technology that enable the Legal team to operate efficiently and deliver high-impact service across the business. You’ll own key initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally, and serve as a go-to expert on how Legal work gets done. Your work will directly support Remote’s rapid international growth and our Legal team’s mission to deliver excellent legal advice through scalable, automated, and user-friendly processes.
This role sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and legal enablement, and is ideal for someone with a legal background who thrives in systems thinking, project management, and process design.

Remote’s Legal Team is responsible for delivering pragmatic and innovative legal solutions for Remote’s products and services, while protecting Remote from unacceptable risk. As Remote adds new products to the platform and rapidly scales its new and existing customer base, so too does the volume and complexity of legal issues. Each new venture, customer, or external employee could bring a myriad of legal issues across 90+ jurisdictions.
What You Bring
- Experience in legal operations, paralegal, legal project management, or similar roles within an in-house legal team, law firm, or legal tech environment
- Demonstrable ownership of legal operations or enablement projects with measurable impact (e.g. intake system optimization, legal request triage, external counsel process improvement)
- Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Experience working with legal tech tools and productivity platforms (Needed: Zapier, Notion, Slack, Sigma, GDrive)
- Strong programming knowledge (e.g. Python or JavaScript, Elixir a plus), experienced in working with Git, logic control flow, API integrations, and webhook automation.
- Ability to learn and master Remote's communication application (Slack), contract management system (CLM), documentation sources (Notion, Google Drive, etc.), task management systems (experience with Zendesk is not mandatory but is a plus).
- Familiarity with legal workflows including contract management, external counsel coordination, and internal knowledge bases
- Expertise in working with data and metrics reporting
- A collaborative, proactive, customer-centric, and analytical mindset, with an eye for solving inefficiencies and enabling legal service delivery at scale.
- Comfort with a remote-first, fast-moving, cross-functional work environment
- Writes and speaks fluent English with excellent communication skills
- As a Legal Ops Sr. Associate in the Legal department, you will provide vital support for the entire legal team, including Employment Specialists and Data Protection.
- Reporting to the Legal Ops Manager, you will play an instrumental part in defining and evolving the Legal Operations function at Remote—enabling efficient legal service delivery, leveraging technology and automation (including AI), and ensuring a seamless, positive stakeholder experience (“LUXops”). Your work will help empower our legal professionals and drive the continued growth and excellence of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Task & Project Coordination
- Own and manage Remote Legal’s intake, task assignment, project board, and metrics workflows (e.g. Notion, Sigma, KissFlow, Slack, legal inbox), ensuring visibility, balance, and accountability across team members
- Serve as the go-to person for legal work orchestration, helping the team stay focused, unblocked, and on track
Process Improvement & Workflow Design
- Lead the identification and resolution of process bottlenecks in legal service delivery
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable workflows for high-volume request types (e.g. contract review, employee queries, data access requests)
- Track and report legal team KPIs and project progress, using dashboards and metrics to guide decision-making
Knowledge Management & Legal Enablement
- Own and continuously improve Legal’s internal and external knowledge bases (e.g. Notion, country wikis, external counsel repository)
- Partner with legal subject matter experts to ensure guidance, playbooks, and templates are up-to-date and searchable
- Drive self-service enablement initiatives to empower internal stakeholders with legal knowledge
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Legal sub-teams, Product, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Compliance to streamline cross-team processes involving Legal
- Support the rollout and adoption of legal tech and automation tools that improve collaboration and reduce turnaround time
External Counsel & Vendor Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of external counsel relationships, including instruction, follow-up, and fee tracking
- Support vendor onboarding and documentation processes related to legal tools and services
- Evaluate opportunities to improve cost-efficiency and service delivery from external legal partners
Advanced Legal Ops Projects
- Own one or more strategic Legal Ops projects (e.g. contract lifecycle system rollout, AI-based legal triage, quarterly performance reporting)
- Coordinate with Legal Ops leadership on roadmap planning and quarterly team OKRs
Additional Support
- Provide high-quality legal research, light contract review, and vendor assessments as needed based on expertise
- Serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members on tools, templates, and processes
Additional key responsibilities

- Conducting legal research on a variety of topics
- Providing additional legal, advisory, and compliance support as needed

The base salary range for this full-time position is $35,200 to $99,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
