Our engineering team is smart, pragmatic, and entrepreneurial. We build with Agentic AI in the loop every day, own what we ship from design through automated testing to deployment to the cloud, and protect a sustainable pace with dedicated time for learning and paying down tech debt. We give engineers genuine autonomy over the tools and services they build.
About the Job:
In your role with our eCommerce Platform team, you'll build and operate the critical, cloud-scale microservices behind our customers' checkout and orders — the systems the customer-facing funnel depends on. You'll also own the internal application our Customer Experience (CX) team uses to support customers, and the compliant financial reporting behind every order. Across the full stack, you'll keep these high-traffic, revenue-critical flows fast, resilient, safe, and friction-free.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and improve the internal application our CX team relies on to support customers, delivering responsive, accessible, well-tested interfaces in ReactJS
- Own features end-to-end, from those interfaces through to the Java/Kotlin services and intuitive, well-tested APIs behind them
- Build and evolve integrations with third-party providers across our eCommerce ecosystem (payments, fraud, tax)
- Deprecate outdated functionality and improve the quality, reliability, scalability, and observability of our revenue-critical flows as the platform grows
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to build software solutions that deliver real business value at scale
- Work in a cross-functional team, helping everyone achieve their best work through code review, mentorship, and sharing technical direction
About You:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related degree, and 4+ years of practical experience
- Hands-on: ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, SpringBoot, Maven, npm
- Experience working in an environment with: cloud / web-scale microservices, GCP (Terraform, Kubernetes), GitHub (git, GitHub Actions), AMQP / RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Splunk
- Proven experience building responsive, well-tested web applications, with a strong grasp of component architecture and state management, ideally interfaces where usability and data density matter
- Solid experience with OOP and design patterns, building backend services and APIs
- An eye for UX detail and a knack for building tools people genuinely like using
- A track record of shipping multiple large, complex projects, and the ability to pick up new tools and technologies quickly
- Strong communication and a collaborative, inclusive approach; you mentor and learn from teammates and help foster an empowering team dynamic
- An owner's mindset; you take initiative, follow through, balance competing priorities, and leave things better than you found them
- Comfort with AI-assisted development tools (Gemini CLI, Claude, Copilot)
Studies show that some people, especially women and members of under-represented groups, hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. If this role excites you and you bring most of what we've described, we'd love to hear from you.
