Senior Product Manager, Inventory & Operations

About Us:

Rent the Runway (RTR) is transforming the way we get dressed by pioneering the world’s first Closet in the Cloud. Founded in 2009, RTR has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry by inspiring women with a more joyful, sustainable and financially-savvy way to feel their best every day. As the ultimate destination for circular fashion, the brand now offers infinite points of access to its shared closet via a fully customizable subscription to fashion, one-time rental or ownership. RTR offers designer apparel and accessories from hundreds of brand partners and has built in-house proprietary technology and a one-of-a-kind reverse logistics operation. RTR has been named to CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list multiple times.

About the Team:

The RTR Product team is customer-obsessed, data-driven, experimental, and iterative. We're energised by defining new behavior in the rental and resale ecosystems and are constantly looking for new ways to delight our customers and suppliers. We believe in and embody RTR's core values - including thinking of ourselves as founders, dreaming big, being scrappy, fostering debate and honest conversations, and bringing our authentic selves to work every day.

The Operations and Inventory Management teams work to deliver the customer mission by innovating through automation, process improvement, transportation methods, packaging and garment science, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

About the Job:

As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead a squad of engineers and cross-functional partners to manage the vision and roadmap for systems that power Rent the Runway’s supply chain and supplier network. This includes all aspects of the customer’s order fulfillment and return process; which covers inventory management, bookings, fulfillment, transportation, inventory care, and supplier management. You will partner with engineering, product design, business stakeholders, data science/analytics, and third-party vendors to implement innovative solutions that increase efficiency, drive scale, and improve operator, customer, and supplier experiences.

This is a full-time role based in our Dumbo office. RTR currently operates on a Hybrid model, with employees working from our office 4-days a week, and flexibly on Fridays. Regular weekly travel to our Secaucus, New Jersey fulfillment center is expected, along with occasional travel to operational facilities outside of the New York metropolitan area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Product Strategy & Execution: Own the product vision, roadmap, and PRDs for RTR’s operational, supply chain, and inventory systems.
  • Power Internal and External Scale: Build and optimize internal systems (i.e., fulfillment, warehouse tech) while driving external expansion capabilities (i.e., supplier integrations).
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Operations, Transportation, Inventory, Buying, Engineering, Analytics, and Finance, to navigate trade-offs, manage competing priorities, and align on high-impact solutions.
  • Ship High-Impact Improvements: Deliver measurable operational gains, whether increasing warehouse throughput, optimizing inventory accuracy or ROI, reducing cycle times, or expanding supplier channel capacity.
  • Rapid Prototyping & AI: Leverage AI tools, Figma, and modern workflows to quickly prototype, validate concepts, and de-risk solutions.
  • Data-Driven Iteration: Define success metrics, monitor post-launch performance, and maintain a tight feedback loop to continually inform product iterations.

 About You:

  • Experience: You hold a Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of Product Management experience, with a strong track record of shipping complex products. Direct experience in e-commerce, fulfillment, inventory management, reverse logistics, transportation, and/or other related supply chain domains is strongly preferred.
  • Systems & Operational Thinker: You excel at breaking down messy, high-complexity systems and problems into clear, actionable product requirements. You are equally comfortable at the 10,000-foot strategic level and down in the weeds of warehouse workflows.
  • Technical Fluency: You speak fluent "tech and ops." You are comfortable with APIs, system architecture discussions, and SQL. You can clearly translate business constraints for engineers and technical trade-offs for business stakeholders.
  • Adaptable & Scrappy: You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments. You enjoy tackling a diverse range of projects and know how to ruthlessly prioritize, test, and iterate for maximum ROI.
  • Data-Informed: You use quantitative metrics and qualitative operational feedback to build compelling business cases, validate hypotheses, and turn data into actionable insights. You are passionate about knowing your customer(s) and empathizing with their pain points.
  • Strong Communicator & Leader: You inspire trust, build consensus across matrixed teams, and keep squad members motivated, organized, and accountable.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
