About the role and team: 

The Vice President, Project Management role is a newly-created leadership position within Research Partnership, and will play a pivotal role in developing and transforming our Project Management and Fieldwork functions across our US offices. This position will work collaboratively with other senior stakeholders across the business to ensure that the Project Management and Fieldwork functions evolve to support the commercial priorities of the business.

The RP Project Management and Fieldwork team currently consists of over 30 project managers and fieldwork executives globally. The teams work alongside our custom research teams to deliver a mixture of qualitative and quantitative (ad hoc and tracking) studies for global pharmaceutical, MedTech, and biotech clients to enable them to address product development, marketing, brand, advertising and communications objectives. Our studies are typically multi-market, encompassing respondents in Europe, North America and Emerging Markets.

Each of our research projects will have a dedicated member of the Project Management or Fieldwork team embedded within the core project team for the full project lifecycle, providing project management expertise and guidance throughout, including taking ownership of client communications through the project lifecycle. Typically, members of our Project Management team will support multiple projects concurrently.

 

Your primary role: 

As Vice President, your primary focus will be to lead the Project Management and Fieldwork teams across our US offices, with a number of mid-senior direct line reports. You will be heavily involved in leading a transformation process to enable our fieldwork executives to develop their commercial and client-facing capabilities in alignment with the wider Research Partnership business. You will also be responsible for overseeing adjacent functions, such as data processing and scripting.

You will play a significant role in evolving the operations of the business and will be responsible for leading and inspiring our teams to develop and expand their capabilities. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business to examine and redefine current operational practices and also develop and embed new processes. You will also have a significant responsibility for training and coaching project managers and fieldwork executives, as well as scoping and defining their responsibilities.

  • Significant responsibility for leading and implementing a transformation agenda
  • Collaboration with senior stakeholders from across the business (e.g. Directors and Vice Presidents)
  • Broad responsibility for managing external supplier relationships and ensuring these relationships are governed by wider financial and commercial goals of the business
  • Line management of a team of experienced Fieldwork Executives within our Project Management and Fieldwork teams, as well as indirect management of their line reports
  • Client-facing responsibilities, including supporting MSA renegotiations from an operational perspective
  • Displaying leadership qualities and the ability to manage and filter down company messages and policy appropriately
  • Develop and maintain positive team performance and attitude through coaching and mentoring and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

About You… 

Your skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in a senior operations role within healthcare market research, spanning both qualitative and quantitative project types
  • Experience managing a number of direct line reports, as well as a wider team of project managers, developing their capabilities
  • Strong commercial capabilities, with significant experience supporting both client and supplier negotiations (consisting of both individual RFPs and wider MSAs)
  • Able to drive operational change throughout the business, partnering with senior stakeholders from across the business and ensuring full alignment on shared goals
  • Very capable communicator

This is a full-time role, working in a hybrid pattern (1 day per week in the office) at our Yardley, PA location. We are also open to fully remote working options.
