Junior Staff Accountant - AP Focus

Our Finance & Accounting team is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant with a strong focus in Accounts Payable, hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and a passion for process improvement. This is a full-time role with opportunities to expand into broader accounting functions in the future.
Position Overview
This role is best suited for someone with a strong background in Accounts Payable—either through a formal degree in Accounting or many years of direct AP experience. You will support daily AP functions and assist with AR and general ledger tasks, reporting to the Controller. Over time, this role offers potential to transition into broader Staff Accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice entry, approval routing, payment processing, and vendor account reconciliation.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable tasks such as customer invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up.
- Support accurate data entry and maintenance in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
- Reconcile AP/AR subledgers to the general ledger and assist with month-end close processes.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to address discrepancies and payment inquiries.
- Help onboard new vendors and maintain compliance documentation (W-9s, 1099s, etc.).
- Provide backup support for other general accounting tasks as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements within the AP/AR cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 2+ years AP/AR experience; or equivalent experience (10+ years in AP).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Business Central) is required.
- Strong Excel skills including formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in cannabis, manufacturing, or multi-entity environments
- Familiarity with AR processes and general ledger accounting
- Comfort working cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and finance teams
- Ability to multitask while managing instant message, phone, and email communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and identify key result expectations with a plan to achieve them
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Work Schedule & Location
- 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs.
- Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines.
- This role is considered hybrid and is ideally based out of our Chicago office, with an expectation of two in-office days per week.
- For the right candidate, we would also consider placing this role at our Delavan facility, with an expectation of being on-site up to four days per week.
- While we strive to maintain a hybrid schedule, business needs may occasionally require increased in-office presence (up to five days per week). Candidates should have the flexibility to adapt as those needs evolve.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation based on experience: starting salary for this position is $65,000/year. Revolution's Full-Time Employees are eligible for benefit offerings for the following: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, HSA Options, PTO, 401k with company match.
