Our Real Estate Team (a separate division of Riboli Family Wines) is looking for a detailed and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our team. This role focuses on the accounting and administration for the family’s real estate portfolio and works closely with our CEO, VP of Finance, and Division Controller. This role falls within our Real Estate Division supporting both commercial and residential real estate projects for the Riboli family. This is an onsite position 5 days a week in Los Angeles, CA.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Current duties may be changed if the job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.

  • Prepare and analyze the financial statements, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and budgets (monthly and yearly).
  • Assist in managing the timeliness of Financial Statements, Bank Reconciliations, and all other monthly reporting/closing procedures.
  • Reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for all entities.
  • Act as point person and liaison for outside CPA and legal firms.
  • Responsible for reviewing, coding, and drafting payment (checks & ACH) for all vendors and entities.
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain a schedule of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and ensure payments are up to date.
  • Supports special construction and tax projects.
  • Review delinquency per assigned property and make sure monthly write-offs are completed.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and strategies to improve efforts, record keeping, and account management including exploring new tools and software.
  • Review budget comparison for accuracy.
  • Assist with monthly budget variance analysis.
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadline requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assist with 3rd party management annual budget reviews.
  • Conduct monthly cash-flow reviews across all entities.
  • Monthly filing and printing of digital and hard copy of monthly property management reports.
  • Prepare annual CAM management (internal and external).
  • Assist with accounting items related to buying and selling properties, as needed.
  • Prepare and file annual 1099’s for all applicable vendors.
  • Perform other duties as needed by the CEO, VP of Finance, and Division Controller.
  • Up to 20% travel required as needed (mostly local).

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in Real Estate Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Commercial/residential Real Estate Property Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with multi entity and or fund accounting required.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written professional communication skills with clients, co-workers, and executives.
  • Absolute integrity, discretion, and sensitivity to confidential company information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) skills required.
  • Experience in Quickbooks a plus.
  • Must be organized, concise, detailed, flexible, and efficient.
  • Must be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of the financial accounting processes.
  • Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management.
  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of ambiguity.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and a solution orientated mindset.
  • Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow.
  • High-level of self-initiative, creativity, perseverance, and flexibility.

Pay Range

$90,000 - $110,000 USD
