Senior Software Engineer - Ads

What You’ll Do:
Architect and implement scalable solutions to support a growing number of users and advertising campaigns.
Develop and maintain high-performance ad-serving systems to ensure reliable ad delivery.
Build innovative ad products to simplify ad operations and streamline sales workflows.
Collaborate with internal data platform teams to prototype and validate in-house tools for data analysis, algorithm automation, and data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with other teams and third-party services to seamlessly integrate the ad serving pipeline with relevance, targeting, bidding, and asset serving systems.
Develop scalable data pipelines and systems to support ad measurement, ROI analysis, and revenue attribution.
Continuously monitor and optimize system performance to identify and address bottlenecks, enhancing ad delivery efficiency.
What You’ll Bring:
Broad knowledge of ad tech and the advertising landscape, programmatic advertising, and digital marketing trends
Good product sense and prior experience designing and launching product features
Exceptional ability to work with and refactor legacy code effectively, adapting to frequent requirement changes.
Exceptional skill in debugging production issues, especially for ad impressions on remote devices.
Exceptional familiarity with distributed backend systems in cloud environments, including databases, caching, and application code.
Proficiency with integrating third-party software and REST APIs, even with challenging documentation or systems.
Proficiency in JavaScript across legacy and modern Chromium browsers.
Proficiency with SQL, data warehousing concepts, query optimization, data streaming, and role-based access control.
Strong algorithmic thinking ability, particularly for developing ad fill optimization strategies.
Ability to rapidly translate high-level product requirements into concrete full-stack prototypes and solutions.
Familiarity with the VAST specification and client-side ad SDKs (e.g., PAL SDK, OM SDK, IMA SDK).
Familiarity with video streaming/playback technologies (including on-device) and Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI).
Experience with front-end development tasks.

Compensation:
Rockbot takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location in the U.S. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
The compensation band for this role is $150K - $205K, plus equity and benefits for all team members.

Yield and Data Analyst
We’re seeking a data-driven Yield and Data Analyst to lead yield strategy, performance analysis, and operational improvements across Rockbot’s programmatic and direct-sold media channels. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of media planning, monetization strategy, programmatic, and process excellence.
You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Data to maximize operational efficiencies, fill rates, and supply setup across our Digital Out of Home (DOOH) and Connected TV (CTV) inventory.

You will:
Own yield analysis across Rockbot’s media inventory, balancing fill, CPM, and partner goals
Analyze impression delivery, pacing, and budget utilization across programmatic and direct campaigns and supply channels
Develop and maintain dashboards that surface revenue trends, anomalies, and opportunities
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve ad server logic, targeting, and delivery efficiency
Audit and refine transparency files (ads.txt, sellers.json, s-chain) to ensure compliance and monetization integrity
Support pricing strategy, packaging, and forecasting for new product launches
Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across campaign setup, reporting, and billing workflows
Support the trafficking on the advertising and retail media side with campaign setups
You have:
5–8 years experience in digital media yield management, revenue operations, or ad tech analytics
Deep fluency in media math: impressions, CPMs, budgets, pacing, and delivery logic
Strong understanding of programmatic ecosystems (DSPs, SSPs, ad servers) and DOOH monetization
Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
Experience with transparency standards and troubleshooting ads.txt/sellers.json/s-chain
Exceptional communication and documentation skills—able to translate complexity into clarity
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and continuous improvement

Senior Product Manager
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of Rockbot’s core display products, including digital signage and TV. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from software on media players to the content management system that helps thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses engage their customers with dynamic visual content.
A central part of this role is leading the development and expansion of the platform's display features, including integrating and managing media from diverse sources such as the Rockbot CMS, third-party partners, point-of-sale systems, and advertisers. You will gather requirements from customers, internal teams, and partners to drive the digital transformation of brick-and-mortar businesses. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop and execute the innovation roadmap for our display products, collaborate with and influence teams such as music and advertising, and shape the go-to-market strategy and implementation for a rapidly growing product line.

You will:
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for the Rockbot display platform, from hardware/player integrations and the content management system (CMS) to user-facing applications and APIs.
Define the product strategy and roadmap for a best-in-class digital signage platform, including requirements gathering, performance measurement, optimization, and innovation.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities that inform product decisions.
Thoroughly analyze and deeply understand the customer journey related to content strategy across digital media touchpoints and in-store media display experiences.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, robust, and scalable content management tools for our diverse customer base.
Lead the product integration of key content and data sources into customer-facing applications and experiences.
Maintain and prioritize the feature backlog, and coordinate releases for the signage and display platforms.
Troubleshoot all product and integration issues, owning them through to a successful resolution.
Establish performance KPIs and model the revenue of the Rockbot digital signage product, including new features, and monitor actual sales data to refine the model and analyze accordingly.
You have:
5 - 7 years of experience as a Product Manager with a demonstrable track record of launching and iterating on successful B2B SaaS products.
Strong understanding of product methodologies and the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and optimization.
Experience with products that involve a hardware/software component (e.g., IoT, connected devices, media players) is highly desirable.
Deep understanding of the Digital Signage/DOOH landscape and use cases, including retail media, menu boards, and wayfinding.
Proven experience working with and managing technical integrations in a commercial environment.
Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), digital asset management platforms (DAMs), or digital signage platforms.
Ability to collaborate hand in hand with developers to build solutions and solve both business & design issues. Proficient with agile methodologies and using tools like JIRA and Slack to drive development tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into precise, actionable product requirements.
Very organized, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on delivering projects thoroughly.
