Business Development Manager (Rocket Travel by Agoda)

Position Overview:  

The Manager of Business Development will support the sales cycle for strategic partnerships and will manage the transition of new partners from Business Development to the Partnerships team. This individual will play a critical role in driving pipeline growth, ensuring seamless execution of partnership launches, and serving as an internal and external liaison to maximize partnership value. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Sales Phase:   

  • Support the team as a trusted advisor to prospects, helping to deliver insights and recommendations that drive mutual value.  
  • Drive strategically focused pitch meetings by preparing high‑impact materials and guiding discussions that reinforce key priorities and performance objectives.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of partnership strategies for growth, innovation, and long-term success.  
  • Contribute to identifying and nurturing new business opportunities to expand the partnership pipeline.  
  • Help build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at prospect organizations.  
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, finance, legal, operations) to help deliver tailored solutions and ensure alignment on organizational objectives.  
  • Advocate for prospect needs internally, helping to ensure their requirements are understood and addressed as appropriate.  
  • Provide market and partner insights to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.  
  • Share knowledge and best practices internally as a subject matter resource on new partners.  
  • Assist in proactively identifying risks and supporting efforts to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.  
  • Help mediate and resolve issues to maintain strong, long-lasting partner relationships.  
  • Support the definition and alignment of the Customer Value Proposition in collaboration with partners.  
  • Facilitate, as needed, internal and external approvals for commercial models, product features, and commitments to ensure team alignment.  
  • Assist with updating Salesforce and other reporting tools to keep the latest view of our pipeline current. 

Launch Phase:  

  • Oversee the transition of partnerships from BD to the Partnerships team, including formal documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage the review and signature process for Letters of Intent (LOIs) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Partnerships team.
  • Obtain and distribute security, compliance, and related assessments to relevant internal teams.
  • Review product mocks with partners and ensure partner feedback is addressed.
  • Gather product requirements and communicate them clearly to product teams.
  • Provide formal documentation to partners on launch-day product offerings and timelines for future enhancements.
  • Set target launch dates and manage timelines to ensure partnership readiness.
  • Prepare and lead launch-day activities, providing all necessary information and steps to the partner. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in business development, partnership management, or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. MBA degree is highly preferred.
  • Background in Travel (OTA, Loyalty, Fintech, Travel Partnerships, and / or Airline Partnerships) is highly preferred. 
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate persuasively. 
  • Curious, analytical and energized by fast-paced data-driven working environments.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives and deliverables.
  • Experience managing contractual, legal, and compliance processes preferred.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Comfortable leading negotiations and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive pipeline growth and support sales strategies. 

 

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus. 

The range for Chicago and Dallas area is $105,000 to $131,500 base.  

 

Note on general employment requirements: 

Candidates should be authorized to accept employment in the US from any employer, should be willing to start within two to three weeks of accepting an offer, and should be able to work the same daily working hours as our Chicago or Dallas office.
