About Rondo Energy:  

Our mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.  

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.  
 
Rondo Energy is looking for a customer-centric Application Engineer to join our team and help us repower industrial heat at a scale. In this role, you will work closely with the Rondo Mechanical Engineering team, external partners, and prospective customers to define complete system solutions which deliver zero carbon, reliable heat for customer projects. You will conduct thermo-economic analyses to identify configurations which maximize the value created by Rondo’s technology and develop the technical information critical to developing a robust pipeline of project opportunities.  

Together we can reduce world CO₂ emissions by 1% in 10 years, and by 15% in 15 years!  

 

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):  

  • Lead and own technical discussions with customers and external partners to identify opportunities and define project requirements, driving project success. 
  • Conduct comprehensive site evaluations, process integrations, techno-economic simulations, and feasibility studies to determine project viability and maximize customer value generation. 
  • Develop creative solutions and strategies to generate customer value through customized system configurations, tailored to the unique needs of each client. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Product, Engineering and Energy Markets teams to perform in-depth product analyses, market studies and technical evaluations ensuring that Rondo’s solutions are competitive and meet market demands. 
  • Provide technical expertise and support during customer presentations and meetings, effectively communicating the benefits and value proposition of our solutions. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technological innovations, and regulatory changes to keep Rondo’s offerings competitive and aligned with market needs. 

 

What You Will Bring: 

  • A passion for contributing to sustainable energy transition  
  • An education base in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering work experience  
  • +5 yrs work experience in a related role 
  • Basic proficiency in coding (Python, Visual Basic) 
  • Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct toward the highest priority 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities 
  • Innovative and results-oriented thinking 
  • Outstanding presentation and oratory skills 
  • Ability to connect and build trust with a wide variety of customers or potential customers 
  • The ability to travel occasionally as needed within Europe for customer or investor meetings  

 

 

 

Bonus Points: 

  • Expertise developing and deploying energy system dispatch and analysis tools in Python 
  • Experience in an Applications Engineering role  
  • Experience with industrial processes which use heat   
  • Knowledge of energy market economic principles 
  • Prior background working in an EPC or an engineering firm/industry 

 

What We Offer:

The estimated annual salary range for this role is €48,600 - €78,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
