We are looking for an experienced Sr. Manager, Energy Strategy & Power Procurement, to join our team and help repower industrial heat at scale across Europe, Australia and the US. In this role, you will define how and help action the sourcing of electricity to charge our Rondo Heat Battery projects, from conceptual framing, to early-stage pricing assessments through to final commercial contracting with suppliers. Your work will directly enable project economics and viability, guide Rondo’s market expansion, and help to shape policy conditions that support adoption of electrified industrial heat.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to):
- Project Power Procurement Support
- Develop expected power pricing and sourcing strategies for new Rondo Heat Battery projects, supporting application engineering and business development teams.
- Secure and manage analytical tools, software, or consulting partners that provide accurate power market forecasts and grid connection support
- Build and maintain relationships with IPPs, traders, utilities, and renewable developers to gather power supply pricing and structured offers.
- Collaborate with Deal Owners to structure, negotiate, and execute electricity procurement agreements for RHB projects, including VPPA, grid charging, greenfield off-grid solutions, hybridized sourcing (power & natural gas)
- Lead or support formal procurement processes, including RFIs and RFPs, evaluating offers on commercial, technical, and regulatory criteria.
- Identify and negotiate key commercial terms for power supply agreements, hedges, and hybrid structures needed to create customer value and ensure project bankability.
- Power Market Intelligence and Geographic Prioritization
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of European, Australian and US wholesale and retail electricity markets, including pricing dynamics, long term forecasts, and renewable development pipelines.
- Assess regulatory frameworks and upcoming reforms across countries, identifying risks and opportunities for Rondo deployment.
- Partner with regional business development leadership to identify priority markets, understand barriers to entry, and refine expansion strategy.
- Policy, Regulatory and Market Access Development
- Track how energy policy changes, including capacity markets, grid interconnection rules, curtailment rules, guarantees of origin, market redesign, and flexibility markets, impact sourcing strategy.
- Develop a clear roadmap of regulatory and policy requirements that enable Rondo participation in target markets.
- Coordinate with internal leadership, external advisors, industry associations, and policy partners to advance reforms that support electrified industrial heat.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Software) or Energy Economics and a Master’s degree or MBA with an energy focus is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power procurement, renewable project development, energy trading, utility origination, or commercial structuring within European markets. Experience in Australian and US markets is a plus.
- Strong understanding of PPAs, wholesale power markets, renewable integration, and energy as a service commercial models.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial power supply contracts and navigating complex counterparties including IPPs, traders, utilities, and network operators.
- Proven ability to independently develop market views, create actionable insights, and translate complexity into commercial recommendations.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling and scenario analysis, along with strong presentation and techno economic writing skills.
- Fluency in English. Additional European languages are a plus.
This role can be located in London or Madrid with travel up to 25%.
