Position Overview
As the Director of Operations, you will report to the VP, Head of Strategy & Operations, and collaborate cross-functionally across the entire organization. You will be responsible for managing all trade operations and settlement, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the on-time delivery of key business milestones. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day execution of critical business processes, working to streamline operations and optimize workflows. Additionally, you will play a key role in scaling operational systems, implementing process improvements, and leading the continuous development of operational strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
The ideal candidate is a curious, humble, and analytically-minded individual with a bias toward action and impact. You could be a fit for this role if you have substantial experience in operations, project management, or consulting at a startup. Experience with project management methodologies is highly preferred, as is VCM work experience or an understanding of carbon markets.
This is a remote/hybrid-optional position but candidates must be based within one hour of our New York City, Los Angeles, or San Francisco offices
Responsibilities
- Support Sales, Legal, Trading, and Investment teams with operations related to live trades, including reporting, vendor onboarding, contract management/diligence, and managing post-investment deals
- Lead and manage cross-functional initiatives and projects to ensure that teams work in a coordinated, efficient, and focused way
- Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the business unit
- Manage cross-functional processes with leaders and executives across the company to ensure key decisions, major projects, and business outcomes are successful
- Identify process improvements and implement changes to streamline operations
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and execute strategic plans
- Support the alignment of operational activities with the company’s long-term goals and objectives
- Develop and deliver presentations to leadership, keeping them informed on the progress of key initiatives
- Provide clear, concise updates and actionable insights to support strategic decisions
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns promptly
- Create and socialize content using variety of internal systems - Asana, G-Suite, email, Slack, Slab, etc. - to inform and align teams and jumpstart forward progress
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 5-8 years experience in Program Management, Operations, Business strategy, or consulting
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge of legal and trading workflows
- Understanding of, or experience in, carbon markets is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Inclusive teamwork skills, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Proactive figure-it-out mindset and top tier prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner
- A passion around climate change and sustainability
Compensation
The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $170,000-200,000 per year. The actual offer, reflecting the total cash compensation package, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team, among other factors.
