Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy & Development

Runwise is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy & Development and add to one of the largest and fastest-growing prop-tech companies in the US.

Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, water, etc…) in 8,500+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year.

In this highly visible role, you’ll report directly to the CFO and work hand in hand with the CEO, President and senior leadership team to develop the Company’s strategic direction. You’ll join a high-growth start-up as the company’s first corporate strategy hire and leverage your skills to define direction and hack complex growth challenges.

This position will be responsible for leading Corporate Strategy and Development efforts at Ruwnise, including: 

  • Leading initiatives to formulate and communicate a cohesive corporate strategy and implement a framework for evaluating growth opportunities across new geographies, products, pricing models, business models, partnerships and M&A. 
  • Executing efforts to establish and improve market intelligence, monitoring customer, competitor, industry, and regulatory trends and interpreting those trends into meaningful near-term action items and medium- to long-term goals for Runwise.
  • Supporting ongoing executive planning with strategic insight / alignment:
    • Participating in the company’s annual planning process and translate strategic assessments into actionable insights 
    • Assisting in adjusting the operating model to fit strategic direction if necessary, identifying investment requirements, evaluating trade offs and prioritizing goals
  • Providing ongoing strategic thought partnership to the senior leadership team (including CFO, CEO, President, COO, SVP of Sales, etc.), and supporting other discrete corporate development projects such as geographic expansion, product roadmapping, and partnership or M&A evaluation. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of total experience across management consulting, private equity, venture capital, corporate strategy or business operations, including:
    • 4+ years of experience in corporate strategy within a high-growth tech company
    • PropTech experience strongly preferred
    • 2+ years of strategy consulting or investing experience 
    • Long track record of academic and professional success

You look to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion with limited guidance. You’re energized by joining a high-growth company and making an immediate impact. You’re flexible and amenable to the constantly changing requirements of our business. You’re willing to voice your opinions and challenge decisions strongly, but ready to disagree and commit when required. 
  • Technical skills: You’re an expert in PowerPoint and Excel, and you’re comfortable operating across the GSuite (google docs, slides, sheets, etc.). You can synthesize complex information into actionable outputs, and create compelling narratives outlining challenges, solutions and an execution plan. You have excellent written and oral communication skills, and previous experience with executive and/or board-level communication.

Salary range: $160,000-$180,000 based on experience level
