CloudOps Engineer (GCP-First, Multi-Cloud)
About the role
We’re looking for a CloudOps Engineer who can own our next frontier: hardening and scaling our new GCP footprint while keeping our AWS estate humming. You’ll be the first hire dedicated to GCP, taking a green-field cluster from “dev box” to production-grade, automated, and audited for SOC 2 & HIPAA.
What you’ll do
Immediate priorities (0-6 months)
- Work with the fall detection team to ensure they have what they need to move fast and build best-in-class software
- Close high-risk gaps
- Author reusable Terraform modules for GCP
- Stand up CI/CD via GitHub Actions + Argo CD (or similar); migrate initial workloads
- Draft org-policies and audit-log retention needed for compliance
- Create an automated maintenance plan for our GKE cluster
Short-term goals (Year 1)
- Complete Phases 2-4 of the production-readiness roadmap (observability, DR run-book, compliance evidence scripts)
- Deliver <150 ms p95 latency for GCP→AWS event flow
- Mentor service engineers on GitOps & SRE best practices
- Contribute patches/improvements to AWS infra as bandwidth allows
Growth opportunities (Beyond Year 1)
- Lead multi-cloud architectural decisions (GCP + AWS)
- Influence long-range capacity & DR strategy
- Potential to grow into Staff Cloud Engineer or Team Lead as we expand
Minimum requirements
- 3+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure
- Production experience with Terraform (0.14+) and Terragrunt (or similar wrappers)
- Deep familiarity with Kubernetes
- Strong networking fundamentals (VPC design, Cloud NAT, VPN/Interconnect, load-balancers)
- Experience implementing or supporting compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, or Bash) and GitHub Actions
Preferred qualifications
- 1+ years experience with GCP or GCP certifications
- Exposure to Datadog log-sinks, SLO/SLA dashboards, PagerDuty
- Familiarity with Argo CD, Config Sync, or Flux
- Experience automating DR drills and writing evidence scripts for auditors

While we are an in office culture, we allow up to 2 remote days per week.
Our benefits package for employees includes competitive base compensation along with stock options. The expected annual salary range for this role is $160,000-$200,000 USD, depending on your level of expertise, your experience, and your performance in the interview process. We also provide fully-paid health and dental insurance coverage for all of our employees, along with other health benefits including vision insurance, membership to premium primary and urgent care, and online medical health providers. We also have a take as you need time off policy, in addition to 7 paid holidays and a company wide winter break during the holidays.
