We are looking for talented designers and creative technologists to join our group and bring new energy to our process. You should be ready to help at all stages of product design, from identifying unmet and latent needs, discovering new design opportunities, designing new product concepts to applying technology creatively to solve real user problems and create radically new experiences that re-imagine the way we interact with products. 

Position Summary: 

The UX Design Researcher takes a human-centric approach to uncover new behavioral shifts and values to guide future products and experience opportunities for Samsung.  You will be able to identify users unmet needs via conducting various types of user research activities and understand how people use products, systems, or services to help guide the design of desired user experiences.  You will continuously refine your research methodologies in order to provide a fresh perspective.

  • User research and heuristic evaluation of existing products 
  • Strong demonstrable experience in User Experience Design/ Design Research/ Product Design 
  • User-centric, research driven mindset for design and discovery 
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively 
  • Dedicated and strong attention to detail 
  • Strong time management skills 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Research planning: Be able to create quantitative and qualitative research plans, with clear rationale for the overall research protocol (recruitment criteria, data collection methods and metrics, stimulus, etc) and grounded with an initial set of hypothesis 
  • Research execution: Be able to conduct and lead live interviews to extract in depth insights 
  • Research synthesis: Be able to develop tangible insights that satisfy key stakeholder expectations. Be able to develop short video clips to capture sentiment and key insights from the user interviews 
  • Research presentation: Be able to create a compelling presentation and report of the research findings. Be comfortable pitching and communicating the research insights to stakeholders 
  • Be comfortable leveraging the latest AI tools at all phases of the research process 
  • Travel International and Domestic and work overtime when needed 

 Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Preferred in design research field or equivalent practical experience and training 
  • 5+ years in user experience research. Previous design agency experience preferred 
  • Advanced understanding of design-centered research processes and methodologies for identifying and solving problems 
  • Ability to conduct and lead User Research to identify users and generate synthetic insights 
  • Strong understanding of design thinking, design principles, and experience design methodologies and their applications 
  • Time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to think and act strategically and proactively 
  • Be clear, concise, have transparent communication style, willing to take action, and open to starting a project, idea, concept from scratch

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
