Fire Estimator & Outside Sales

We work with all types of corporate customers, ranging from large pharmaceutical and manufacturing firms, to entertainment studios and executive estates.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fire Systems Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and materials estimates for fire detection systems including fire alarm and detection systems. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and competitive bids, while supporting project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for fire systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to gather technical and cost information.
- Perform material take-offs and labor estimates for fire alarm and special hazard
- Utilize estimating software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Trimble, Accubid) to aid in the preparation of bids.
- Source pricing from vendors and subcontractors; maintain up-to-date pricing
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, local fire codes).
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as

Qualifications:
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in fire systems estimating or a related field (fire protection, construction, MEP).
- Strong understanding of fire detection systems (including alarm, sprinkler, suppression, ).
- Proficient with estimation tools and software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel).
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, UL, FM, OSHA).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical
- Strong communication and organizational
Preferred:
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Sprinkler Systems (Level I or higher).
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or fire protection
- Experience working in a design-build or contracting
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional site visits and client
- Normal business hours with some flexibility required to meet bid
