Senior Product Manager, AI Platform (Remote, US)

Remote - US

About Sayari:

Sayari is a venture-backed and founder-led global corporate data provider and commercial intelligence platform that serves financial institutions, legal and advisory service providers, multinationals, journalists, and governments. Thousands of analysts and investigators in over 30 countries rely on our products to safely conduct cross-border trade, research front-page news stories, confidently enter new markets, and prevent financial crimes such as corruption and money laundering.

Our company culture is defined by a dedication to our mission of using open data to prevent illicit commercial and financial activity, a passion for finding novel approaches to complex problems, and an understanding that diverse perspectives create optimal outcomes. We embrace cross-team collaboration, encourage training and learning opportunities, and reward initiative and innovation. If you like working with supportive, high-performing, and curious teams, Sayari is the place for you.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of Sayari’s AI initiatives. In this role, you will be the lead strategist and primary owner of the functional logic for the backend intelligence system that transforms our massive proprietary knowledge graph into autonomous reasoning capabilities.

You will partner with your Front-end AI PM counterpart, Engineering, and Business Units to transition Sayari from an analyst-focused search tool to a "System of Work", the strategic backbone used to navigate the world's most complex challenges in global trade, national security, and financial crime.

You will have product ownership over the foundational AI stack: model orchestration, automated evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering systems, and the strategy for domain-specific models (including SLMs). Your mandate is to drive the backend AI product lifecycle from data quality initiatives for LLMs to self-repairing agentic workflows, ensuring our intelligence engines exceed customer and market expectations. By shaping the core product requirements and reasoning logic AI product lifecycle, you will build the engine that delivers definitive answers to decision-makers in mission-critical industries, grounded in verifiable truth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Core AI Platform Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for Sayari’s AI infrastructure. You will own the requirements for the orchestration layers, prompt management systems, and the underlying platform architecture that powers our generative intelligence.
  • Model Lifecycle & SLM Ownership: Lead the strategy for model selection, fine-tuning, and deployment. This includes evaluating the trade-offs between frontier models and domain-specific Small Language Models (SLMs) to optimize for performance, cost-to-serve, and user latency.
  • Automated Evaluation & Trust: Establish the "ground truth" for Sayari AI. You will define and build rigorous evaluation frameworks, benchmarking non-deterministic outputs to ensure accuracy, provenance, and adherence to "system of work" reliability standards.
  • Intelligence Orchestration: Define how our systems reason and interact. This includes owning the product requirements for agentic workflows, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and "self-repairing" systems that maintain data integrity and model reliability at scale.
  • Collaborative AI Delivery: Partner deeply with "Front-end" Application PMs to ensure backend capabilities translate into seamless user experiences. While responsibilities are delineated between platform and application, you are expected to "lean in" across the stack to ensure business outcomes are met.
  • Investment & Outcome Strategy: Author the business cases and define business outcomes for significant technical shifts in our AI stack. You will articulate how foundational backend improvements directly translate to superior product outcomes, market dominance, and reduced operational overhead.
  • Tradecraft Codification & Expert AI: Lead the effort to translate complex analyst tradecraft and investigative methodologies into automated "Skills" and agentic reasoning. You will ensure that the platform's AI outputs reflect the judgment, precision, and trust required for high-stakes economic security and risk intelligence.
  • Cultural Architect: You will act as a Cultural Architect for AI, evangelizing a 'Quality-First' mindset across the company and ensuring that our transition to an AI-native product suite is grounded in human-centric design and ethical accountability.
  •

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, specifically focused on backend platforms or AI/ML engines, where product success is defined by managing a combination of deterministic & probabilistic reasoning.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in Product Management of AI-driven solutions & Deep Generative AI Fluency: Proven ability to drive requirements for complex AI systems, including prompt engineering frameworks, agent orchestration, and automated evaluation systems. Ability to define success metrics and evaluation frameworks that ensure AI performance meets the accuracy and reliability requirements of mission-critical environments.
  • Domain Intelligence: Prior experience leveraging risk, intelligence, supply chain, or financial investigation data to solve complex customer problems.
  • Systems Thinking: Experience managing a "Platform-as-a-Product" model, focusing on building reusable backend components that power a diverse ecosystem of applications.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable discussing model architecture, embedding strategies, and infrastructure trade-offs (e.g., Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery) with engineering peers.
  • Outcome-Oriented Requirements: A track record of translating vague technical possibilities into high-impact, executable product requirements, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives (Engineering, Legal, Sales, CS) where success depends on your ability to negotiate trade-offs and build deep trust with stakeholders.
  • Decision Agency under Ambiguity: Proven ability to make high-stakes product bets in non-deterministic environments where data is messy and 'perfect' answers don't exist. You rely on domain expertise, rigorous logic, and expert-driven intuition.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Reasoning with Knowledge Graphs: Experience defining how complex entity-relationship data should be leveraged to automate high-order reasoning tasks.
  • Model Implementation: Technical familiarity with model fine-tuning, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), or the deployment of SLMs in production.

The target base salary for this position is $185,000-$200,000 plus company bonus and equity. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, candidate experience and expertise, internal peer equity, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
