Position Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Production to lead Saylor’s production function.

This role will oversee all aspects of content and campaign production, ensuring seamless execution from concept through delivery. You’ll manage and mentor a team of Producers and our Post-Production team, building the structure, processes, and culture that enable high-quality, efficient, and innovative production across the agency.

The Head of Production will partner closely with account, creative, and strategy leads, balancing creative ambition with operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a proven ability to scale production functions.

Location & Salary
This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary of $160,000-$200,000, depending on experience based in Los Angeles. This is a hybrid role, working out of our office in Echo Park.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of content and campaign production, from budgeting and scheduling to execution and delivery.
  • Ensure production meets creative vision, client expectations, and Saylor’s quality standards.
  • Manage resource allocation across projects to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and grow Saylor’s production and post-production teams.
  • Set clear goals, provide coaching and mentorship, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and creative problem-solving.
  • Develop and implement scalable production processes, workflows, and tools that support cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Build and manage production schedules and resourcing plans across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track project health, flag risks early, and implement solutions to keep work on time and on budget.
  • Oversee production budgets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and profitability.
  • Negotiate with vendors, freelancers, and external partners to achieve best value while maintaining quality.
  • Partner with finance and leadership on forecasting, resourcing, and margin management.
  • Serve as a Saylor’s production point of contact for key clients, building trust through proactive communication and reliable delivery.
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and account leads to align production approaches with project goals and client needs.
  • Advocate for production best practices and set clear expectations with both internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of production experience in an agency, studio, or production company, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in content production across formats (digital, social, broadcast, experiential, influencer, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of post-production workflows and best practices.
  • Proven experience managing production budgets, schedules, and resources at scale.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
