Senior QA Manager - Monopoly GO!
Scopely is looking for a Senior QA Manager to join our Monopoly Go! team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis.

What You Will Do
Reporting to the QA Director, you will play a key role in shaping and executing short-term organizational objectives within the test framework for our flagship title, Monopoly Go! You’ll support the quality initiatives of multiple cross-functional teams focused on developing, integrating, and releasing exciting new content and features.
Leading a team of both internal and external QA professionals, you’ll help drive continuous improvement, guiding how we iterate toward success and evolve our ways of working.
- Evolve and enhance the existing test framework to align with project growth and broader team goals, delivering short-term strategic proposals through to successful implementation
- Act as a key advocate for embedding a Culture of Quality across all facets of development, promoting shared ownership and accountability
- Line manage internal QA team members within your vertical group(s), supporting their growth through Individual Development Plans (IDPs), Key Performance Objectives (KPOs), and regular 1:1s
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding efforts for QA roles within your vertical group(s), and support hiring for QA leadership positions across the wider team
- Help manage expectations and performance of external QA vendors, reviewing KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Oversee governance and best practices for key QA tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail), ensuring consistency and structured usage within your vertical group(s) / the wider team
- Actively contribute to the evolving QA lifecycle by identifying gaps and recommending process improvements as the project scales
- Listen to team concerns, escalate them to senior leadership with actionable solutions, and take ownership of resolution through to completion
- Support the Monopoly Go! Release Train process, enforcing quality checkpoints and best practices at each milestone
- Help define and implement effective governance and testing strategies for both client-server interactions and broader system integrations
- Maintain a comprehensive view of quality across your vertical group(s), the wider team and upcoming features by leveraging reporting tools such as RAG reports and other tracking mechanisms
- Provide hands-on testing support as needed within your pods and across the team, staying closely connected to in-development features and ensuring high-quality releases
- Champion QA-led and cross-functional team playtest sessions in collaboration with the QA leadership team
- Partner with Customer Support to proactively address known quality concerns and better understand user pain points from live environments
- Collaborate with wider QA leadership to share visibility of new features and their potential impact across vertical groups, ensuring alignment and awareness
- Work with the Roadmap team to secure adequate QA time for planned features, advocating for realistic timelines that meet quality standards
- Serve as the QA Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for collective releases when required
- Promote consistency in QA practices across vertical groups, offering constructive feedback and suggestions for standardization and improvement
- In coordination with the QA Director, contribute to the annual QA operating plan, highlighting resource needs or excess capacity as appropriate
- Actively participate in vertical group ceremonies to remain up to date with ongoing work, reviewing briefs and specs early to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Monopoly Go! and its core mechanics to better support quality efforts across the project
- Promote a "shift-left" mindset by helping identify and resolve issues earlier in the development cycle, and provide solutions when this isn’t occurring
- Collaborate with Technical Leadership to address inefficiencies and explore automation or tool-based solutions to improve workflow and reduce manual effort
- Embody and represent Scopely’s core tenets in all your actions, setting an example across the QA and wider teams
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional leadership and managerial skills with proven experience
- Strong verbal / written communication and an excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively advocate for your team’s needs, while maintaining a clear understanding of business priorities to ensure balanced, mutually beneficial outcomes
- Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines
- A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals
- Comfortable travelling on occasion to offshore hub locations
- Exceptional reporting capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking systems
- Mobile exposure and an understanding of Apple / Google submission protocol
- A sound understanding of the gaming industry and the typical end to end development lifecycle
