Overview
The Plant Security Protection Specialist is responsible for the daily execution of security and assists with fire protection operations at the Blythewood, South Carolina Scout Motors production facility. This role focuses on field-level execution, guard force oversight, operational security support and incident response coordination to ensure the protection of employees, visitors, corporate assets, and production continuity. The Specialist works on-site at the facility, directly within plant operations, supporting the Manager of Plant Security and Fire Protection to execute and manage established security programs, monitor systems and personnel, and facilitate day-to-day security activities across the site.
What you’ll do

Security Implementation and Procedures
- Support implementation of plant security procedures and operational compliance.
- Coordinate with leadership to ensure security procedures are followed.
- Support security coverage planning for special plant activities, production areas, and events on site.
- Support implementation of corrective security measures directed by leadership.
- Deliver operational security training and awareness briefings for employees, contractors, and security personnel.
- Provide guidance to guard force personnel on response procedures and security protocols
- Maintain incident logs, operational reports, and security documentation.
- Collect operational security metrics including incident statistics, guard performance data, alarm activity reports, and access control trends and assist the Manager of Security and Fire Protection with reporting and program performance tracking.
- Conduct preliminary incident investigations, including evidence collection and witness interviews.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain investigation documentation.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and external security partners during incidents or investigations.
Security Personnel Monitoring
- Provide day-to-day operational monitoring of contract security guard force assigned to the facility.
- Conduct inspections of guard posts and access control points to ensure compliance with post orders and site procedures.
- Monitor staffing levels and operational readiness of security personnel.
- Address guard performance issues and escalate vendor performance concerns.
Security Technology and Access
- Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) / Fusion Center.
- Monitor the daily operation of security technologies including access control systems, CCTV platforms, badge management systems, and intrusion detection systems.
- Identify system issues, coordinate troubleshooting with IT or vendors, and track resolution.
- Support operational testing and readiness checks of electronic security systems.
- Coordinate with security technology vendors, facilities teams, and construction contractors during security equipment installation activities.
- Document installation progress, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with vendors and project teams.
- Participate in system testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance of newly installed security technologies.
- Conduct field inspections of installed security equipment including cameras, access control readers, door hardware, alarm devices, and supporting infrastructure to verify alignment with approved security designs and operational requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of plant perimeter fencing, gates, lighting, camera coverage, and restricted areas to identify physical security vulnerabilities and report mitigation recommendations.
- Manage and administer site access control processes including badge issuance, credential activation/deactivation, and access level verification.
- Support investigations related to access misuse or unauthorized access attempts.
- Support security operations related to plant activities including contractor access management and temporary security coverage.
Emergency Response
- Respond to security incidents, workplace disruptions, accidents, and emergency events occurring on plant property, including coordination of emergency response when required
- Coordinate response actions for alarms, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, and security incidents and provide real-time situational updates to leadership and the Manager of Security and Fire Protection
- Act as or support the Incident Commander during emergency events and assist with coordination of on-site response resources.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC
- This role requires daily attendance in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Travel: Occasional business travel domestically and will be required, with opportunities to travel internationally. Valid driver's license required. Passport required.

- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 5- 7 years of progressive experience in physical security, industrial security, or law enforcement environments with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in working in SOCs/fusion centers, preferably at a supervisory or senior level.
- Experience in writing scopes of work and managing contracts and managing third-party security vendors.
- In-depth knowledge of security principles, emergency response protocols, and crisis preparedness drills and exercises.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and programs, ideally within a large-scale industrial environment.
- Familiarity with security and fire protection technologies, including access control systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and basic knowledge of fire suppression systems.
- Experience in conducting security investigations and preparing detailed reports.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to security and emergency management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and contractors.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work and take decisions independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $90,000.00 - $112,500.00
