Overview


We are seeking a Linux System Administrator with 3–15 years of experience to support and optimize our trading infrastructure. This role will focus on managing and improving our on-prem and cloud-based systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for our trading environment.


The ideal candidate will also have exposure to AI-driven observability and anomaly detection, leveraging M.E.L.T. (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) data to enhance system reliability and insight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Rocky Linux-based infrastructure for trading and research environments.Manage on-prem clusters (HTCondor) and AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Automate system administration tasks using Bash, Python, or Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations.Apply AI-assisted or data-driven anomaly detection to proactively identify performance or reliability issues across M.E.L.T. (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) pipelines.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed for system hardening and access control.
  • Handle network configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with developers and traders to support infrastructure needs.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and system-level access controls.

Collaborate with data and AI teams to integrate intelligent monitoring and predictive insights into infrastructure operations.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with HTCondor or other high-performance compute clusters.
  • Experience with low-latency or high-performance trading environments is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production-critical environments.Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven observability or anomaly detection frameworks using M.E.L.T. data (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces).
  • Experience working with monitoring and telemetry tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or OpenTelemetry, especially in the context of intelligent alerting or predictive diagnostics.
