Job Description: Looking for a talented and self-motivated Electrical Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience with all aspects of industrial equipment manufacturing, including wiring, panels, troubleshooting and reading / understanding schematics and must be comfortable working independently without continuous guidance.
Job Duties:
- Wire, assemble and troubleshoot complex industrial automation equipment.
- Electrical Panel assembly and diagnostics.
- Electromechanical duties, such as cutting holes for connectors, drilling and tapping holes for mounting components, using jig saws for cut-outs, etc.
- Select (and order) appropriate wire gauges, colors and routing (separation of AC/DC).
- Select (and order) common electrical components, such as power supplies, relays, terminal blocks, etc.
- Provide feedback to engineers by collaborating in meetings and providing markups on schematics.
Skills/Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience / comfortable working with schematics and providing markups as needed.
- Computer skills, using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. but also using AutoCAD / Adobe Acrobat to view and mark up schematics.
- Experience with frequently used control components, such as I/O modules, (safety) relays, power supplies, breakers, other DIN rail components, etc.
- Fluent with basic electrical tools such as wire strippers, crimp tools and must have excellent soldering skills.
- Proven experience with complex system integration and diagnostics.
- Troubleshooting skills, including using meters for continuity and basic voltage/current checks.
- Basic skills using mechanical tools, such as hand drills, hole taps, jig saws, Dremel tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, rulers, tape measures, vernier calipers, etc.
Strongly Desired:
- Safety compliances, preferably CE.
Education/Experience:
Required: Associates degree in Electrical / Electromechanical assembly or related field;
- 5+ yrs. experience in a related field
Other Skills required:
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written as well as proven effective teamwork.
- Flexibility; comfortable with changing priorities and supporting mechanical assembly when required.
- Understanding of cable types, such as coax, shielded, twisted pair, etc.
- Understanding separation of AC/DC, communication cabling and sensitive analog cabling.
- Experience in additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing.
Travel:
Expectation is up to 15%
