SharkNinja is building a new global competitive intelligence capability modeled after the rigor, diligence, and competitive intensity of top-tier Wall Street investment analysts - adapted for a fast-moving operating company. 

The purpose of this function is to: 

  • Increase global external awareness and insight generation
  • Elevate the quality and intensity of strategic debate
  • Improve conviction in commercial decision-making
  • Identify inflection points before they become consensus
  • Bridge global market intelligence with internal commercial strategy 

This group will serve as a high-leverage insight engine for global Commercial leadership - influencing pricing, portfolio prioritization, retailer strategy, innovation focus, and capital allocation decisions across regions. 

Summary

The Senior Principal, Competitive Intelligence is a global role that will analyze competitive dynamics, category shifts, pricing behavior, and channel evolution across all major regions - North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. 

As the Principal, Competitive Insights Analyst, you will anchor SharkNinja’s global strategic decisions in external reality - not internal narrative - applying a disciplined change-vs-consensus framework across geographies and channels. 

  • Identify what is changing globally
  • Determine whether the change is structural or temporary
  • Assess whether risk or opportunity is underappreciated
  • Translate insight into decisive global commercial action 

Core Responsibilities

Global Competitive Intelligence & Market Surveillance

  • Develop structured global coverage of priority competitors across regions
  • Build competitor profiles that assess:
  • Regional pricing architecture and promotional behavior
  • Product roadmap differences by geography
  • Channel mix evolution (retail, DTC, marketplaces)
  • Margin durability across markets
  • Geographic expansion strategy
  • Monitor shifts in retailer positioning, assortment, and digital shelf presence across global markets
  • Identify region-specific inflection points that may signal broader global trends

Global Data Review & Signal Triangulation

  • Analyze and synthesize data across multiple regions and markets
  • Triangulate across:
    • Global POS and syndicated data
    • Regional retailer portals
    • Public financial disclosures and earnings commentary
    • Analyst research and investor sentiment
    • Supply chain signals and manufacturing footprint changes
  • Identify discrepancies between regions and determine strategic implications 
  • This role requires comfort interpreting incomplete or uneven global data sets and forming defensible conclusions.

Change vs. Consensus Analysis (Global Lens)

  • Operate with a disciplined question - what is changing globally versus what the market assumes
  • Identify where competitor performance diverges across regions
  • Distinguish localized noise from global structural shifts
  • Evaluate global category momentum versus regional cyclicality
  • Assess whether certain regions represent early indicators of broader trends 

Strategic Pressure Testing (Enterprise-Level)

  • Stress-test global pricing strategies and promotional intensity
  • Evaluate portfolio bets across markets
  • Assess global risk concentration
  • Develop scenario frameworks outlining regional upside/downside implications
  • Support global Commercial leadership with alternative strategic viewpoints

Executive Insight Delivery

  • Deliver concise, answer-first global briefings to the CCO and senior leadership
  • Develop recurring global dashboards and early-warning systems
  • Provide region-specific breakdowns alongside enterprise-level implications
  • Translate global insight into clear commercial actions 

Cross-Functional & Cross-Regional Integration

  • Partner with Global Sales teams, Regional Commercial leaders, Marketing, Finance, Product Development, Supply Chain & Investor Relations
  • Ensure regional insights inform enterprise strategy and vice versa
  • Maintain alignment between global competitive dynamics and internal execution 

Success Metrics

This role rewards insight impact, rigor, and speed - globally.  Performance will be measured by: 

  • Speed and accuracy of identifying global competitive shifts
  • Quality and clarity of global insight generation
  • Influence on enterprise-level commercial decisions
  • Ability to detect region-specific signals before they scale
  • Elevation of global strategic debate quality 

Qualifications

Required Experience 

  • 2-4 years of experience in:
    • Investment Banking
    • Equity Research
    • Hedge Fund / Asset Management
    • Corporate Strategy or Competitive Intelligence with strong analytical rigor 

Analytical & Technical Capabilities 

  • Strong financial modeling and economic analysis skills
  • Ability to compare competitor economics across regions
  • Structured, hypothesis-driven thinking
  • Comfort working with imperfect global data
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Executive-ready PowerPoint storytelling 

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience analyzing multinational businesses
  • Familiarity with global POS and syndicated data platforms
  • Exposure to cross-border pricing strategy and channel dynamics
  • Experience working in global or multi-regional organizations
