About the Role:

 

This role will focus on embedded firmware design and product development lifecycle for our ambitious product roadmap. The successful candidate will have experience in embedded firmware design, including 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers. Preferably in home appliance products or similar and would be familiar with all product development aspects such as best practice coding standards, heating control, motor control, sensor, inter-processor communications such as UART, I2C, SPI, WIFI and firmware/code verification systems. The successful candidate would have experience using analysis/measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, data loggers, DVM’s to debug embedded systems.

LOCATION: Shenzhen, China

 

 

 

Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:

 

  • Design and development of consumer products from initial concept to on-going product support within our global development organization
  • Write and document code, primarily C, for functional prototypes to support advanced development/research and for product launch
  • Collaborate with members of the Embedded Systems group to enhance capabilities and to help form a world-class embedded development team
  • Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate firmware development activities including coding, debugging and test
  • Develop clear and concise firmware specifications/documentation and solutions to meet product requirements, including flowcharts and inter-processor communication protocols
  • Develop and execute test plans for unit testing; and work closely with the system test team to insure the delivery of high quality design
  • Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status
  • Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues
  • Be able to lead and mentor junior engineers and technologists.

 

You are Expected:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule
  • A broad view and understanding of the product development process as it relates to embedded design, and effective experience delivering products on time
  • Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail, familiarity with tracking tools such as JIRA and revision control
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with heating and motor control
  • Familiarity with ST, TI, Sonix, Sinowealth, CMS, GD, BYD and IDE’s.
  • Familiarity with agile/team collaboration firmware development and CMMI.
  • AI-assisted development / Leveraging AI tools experience is highly preferred
  • Experiences on touch keys and TFT are plus
  • BT development experience is plus
  • Proficiency in GCC and CMake is plus

Education/Certifications/Affiliations

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a firmware development role involving the coding, debugging, test and documentation of embedded designs
  • Strong experience in coding in C and ASM. C++ and Python experience is a plus
  • Good knowledge of embedded system architecture.
  • Good knowledge of microprocessor principles and peripheral circuits

Travel Requirements

  • Be flexible for domestic and international travel.
