Mechanical Engineer
SharkNinja is looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer 2 to join the rapidly growing Personal Care team within Shark Engineering. This team member will have the opportunity to significantly impact the growth of a new category by turning ideas into manufacturable and cutting-edge personal care products. We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated engineer with the ability to think from the consumer perspective and tackle complex design problems.
Our ideal candidate has experience developing products in cross-functional teams, enjoys designing and prototyping new concepts, is knowledgeable about injection molding and is passionate about bringing new products to market. This candidate is a natural leader and wants to positively impact peoples' lives through engineering design.
Responsibilities:
- Help define the architecture of innovative products in a fast-paced engineering team
- Create product designs for manufacture by injection molding, sheet metal forming, extrusion, machining, and other methods
- Collaborate in our multi-disciplinary team to define, design, build, and test new products across the lifecycle from initial conception to mass production
- Integrate electrical systems into new designs, evaluate design trade-offs, and make meaningful design decisions
- Design and build prototypes for review, testing, and consumer validation
- Tear down, debug, and analyze electro-mechanical appliances.
- Create and perform DOE to develop a first principles understanding of key variables
- Review and interpret test results to provide feedback on product improvement solutions
- Research new technologies to conceptualize the future products of tomorrow
- Source and validate critical components from our business partners and other globally distributed vendors
- Work closely with our manufacturing and new product development teams overseas
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in product design and development, working within cost and manufacturing limitations
- Proficiency in in SolidWorks and/or CREO (preferably CREO)
- Good skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledgeable of design for injection molding, sheet metal forming, 3D printing, laser cutting, and others
- Experience in creating engineering drawings with GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
- Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid flow
- Solid analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and relentless aim to identify potential problems and take ownership for their resolution
- Flexible, enjoys switching gears, and working in a very fast-paced environment
- Sharing an engineering portfolio which shows examples of prior design work is recommended
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the personal care or home appliances industry preferred
- Experience designing and testing small appliances and electronic devices
- Familiarity with designing products involving heated elements, motors, fans, airflow paths, and thermal control
- Knowledge of electronics (analog/digital) and test equipment
- Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment and hand tools
- Ability to travel globally, including trips to China and the UK
Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Pay Range
$78,000 - $115,000 USD
