AI at SharkNinja

At SharkNinja, we’re building an AI-native culture. We’re not waiting for the future; we’re creating it. Our people are expected to experiment boldly, adopt new tools, and continuously raise what’s possible to create meaningful impact for our consumers. If you believe the best way to do your job hasn’t been invented yet, you’ll fit right in.

We are currently hiring 3 unique Directors, Global Category Strategy - 1 specialized in Home Environment, 1 specialized in Beauty, and 1 specialized in Motorized / Treats.

Global Category Strategy is the category-focused commercial engine at SharkNinja. In partnership with Global Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Supply Planning, the function builds and delivers comprehensive Plans To Win to every market we operate in.

The Director, Global Category Strategy – Home Environment owns the global category plan for the Fans & Air Purifier portfolio. This leader sets the category's roadmap point of view, assortment architecture, channel strategy, and price/promo guardrails — then equips regional commercial teams including Strategic Sales & Analytics, and Sales teams to execute against them locally.

The Director, Global Category Strategy – Beauty owns the global category plan for the Hair Care and Skin Care portfolio. This leader sets the category's roadmap point of view, assortment architecture, channel strategy, and price/promo guardrails — then equips regional commercial teams including Strategic Sales & Analytics, and Sales teams to execute against them locally.

The Director, Global Category Strategy – Motorized & Treats owns the global category plan for the Blenders, Food Processors, Kitchen System, Ice Cream Maker, & Frozen Drink Maker portfolio. This leader sets the category's roadmap point of view, assortment architecture, channel strategy, and price/promo guardrails — then equips regional commercial teams including Strategic Sales & Analytics, and Sales teams to execute against them locally.

This is an upstream, category-level strategy role. It does not own retailer relationships, in-market execution, or regional sales delivery. It creates the game plan which facilitates local market execution and success within the global standard for how the category shows up across markets.

Scope:

  • Global ownership of the Home Environment category commercial plan across all regions and channels.
  • One of five category-facing Directors in the function — three Shark (Home Environment, Beauty, Floor Care) and two Ninja (Indoor/Outdoor Cooking, Motorized & Treats).
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Roadmap Insights

  • Own the global category point of view on the Home Environment roadmap: where the category is going, where we should play, and what we need to build to win.
  • Translate consumer, category, competitive, and channel data into clear roadmap implications for Product Development and Global Marketing.
  • Pressure-test proposed launches on commercial viability — demand potential, channel fit, price positioning, cannibalization, and portfolio role — before investment is committed.
  • Build the evidence base that turns market signals into roadmap recommendations which facilitate educated ELT decisions.

Assortment Plans

  • Define the global assortment architecture for Home Environment: good/better/best laddering, tiering, channel-specific differentiation, and SKU role clarity.
  • Set the assortment framework markets deploy, balancing global consistency with regional relevance.
  • Lead lifecycle and portfolio decisions — extensions, transitions, rationalization, exits — in partnership with PD, Finance, and Supply Planning.
  • Ensure assortment plans are executable against supply and demand realities while supporting commercial objectives.

Channel Strategies

  • Build the global omni-channel strategy for Home Environment across retail, e-commerce, DTC, and emerging channels.
  • Define which products go where, why, and with what commercial construct — including channel exclusives and differentiators which protect price integrity.
  • Partner with regional commercial and SS&A teams to translate global channel strategy into market-level distribution plans.
  • Identify white space and channel expansion opportunities that unlock category growth.

Price / Promo Guidance

  • Own global price architecture and promotional guardrails for the category, in partnership with RGM & Finance.
  • Set list price positioning, promotional depth and frequency guidance, and price ladder logic across markets.
  • Analyze elasticity, promotional effectiveness, and margin impact to sharpen guidance over time.
  • Protect global price integrity while giving markets the flexibility to compete locally.

Big Bets

  • Identify and build the case for the category's Big Bets — the concentrated, high-conviction plays that materially move the business.
  • Develop full commercial cases: opportunity sizing, investment requirement, channel and pricing approach, risk, and success measures.
  • Secure cross-functional and executive alignment, then track performance and adapt.
  • Make explicit trade-off recommendations on where to concentrate resource and where to stop.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the primary commercial partner to Global Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Supply Planning for the Home Environment category.
  • Represent the global category position in the operating rhythm — roadmap reviews, demand and supply planning, portfolio and pricing forums.
  • Act as the connective tissue between global strategy and regional execution: land plans clearly with markets and bring market reality back into global planning.
  • Build a shared, defensible fact base so cross-functional decisions are made on evidence rather than opinion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial strategy, category strategy, brand or portfolio management, category management, or commercial business development — preferably in consumer goods, retail, or durable products.
  • Demonstrated success building category or portfolio strategies that delivered share and revenue growth across multiple markets or channels.
  • Experience influencing product roadmaps and launch strategy from a commercial standpoint.
  • Strong command of pricing and promotional strategy, including price architecture and elasticity.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic acumen; able to convert complex, incomplete data into a clear recommendation.
  • Experienced people leader with a track record of developing high-performing analytical teams.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, with proven ability to align senior and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Comfort operating globally across time zones, cultures, and market maturities.
  • Ability to travel internationally on a quarterly basis to support market engagement, retailer and channel insight, and cross-functional collaboration.
