Shift4 is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to provide foundational legal support across the organization. This role is a blend of commercial contract management, regulatory research, and corporate governance. You will act as a versatile legal partner, helping various departments (from HR to Product) navigate risks while ensuring the company’s commercial interests are protected.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare, review, and revise commercial agreements, NDAs, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and other legal documents to protect company interests.
  • Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; provide concise summaries and recommendations.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures, including monitoring changes in applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support corporate filings, board resolutions, and maintenance of corporate records.
  • Identify potential legal and regulatory risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
  • Partner with internal teams (HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product) to provide legal guidance on projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in managing disputes, claims, and litigation, including coordinating with outside counsel.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date legal files and documentation.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a legal role (in-house or at a law firm). Internship or clerkship experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with corporate law, contract law, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Proactive problem-solving approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis). Comfort with contract management software is a plus.

Compensation:

Shift4 applies a structured, market-informed approach to compensation.

Salary ranges are developed based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, such as internal job levels, scope of responsibilities, and external market data. The range listed for this position reflects the expected hiring range for qualified candidates and corresponds to the level and requirements of the role.

Actual compensation may vary depending on various factors, such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Shift4’s compensation structures are subject to periodic review and ongoing alignment across regions. Additional components such as variable remuneration or other benefits may also apply based on eligibility and role type.

Salary Range: € 36,000 - € 40,000
