The Account Executive (3PI / Commercial) is responsible for driving new business growth across Non-Enterprise Merchants, Enterprise Accounts, and ISV / Software Partner channels. This hunter-focused role manages the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, while also building referral relationships that generate ongoing opportunities. The position requires strong outbound activity, consultative selling skills, pipeline management, and the ability to move quickly while maintaining accuracy throughout the onboarding process.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and engage potential merchants across Non-Enterprise, Enterprise, and Partner channels.
- Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through signed agreement and onboarding.
- Build and maintain referral relationships with ISVs and software partners to generate inbound opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for merchants referred through partner channels.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand merchant needs and position Shift4 solutions effectively.
- Complete merchant applications accurately and efficiently, with urgency on Enterprise-tier accounts.
- Maintain consistent outreach activity through calls, emails, and follow-up cadence.
- Track pipeline activity, sales performance, and opportunities within Salesforce CRM.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales production minimums and performance expectations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and partner satisfaction.
- Stay current on Shift4 products, pricing, and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven success in a hunter-style sales role with measurable production results.
- Strong prospecting, pipeline management, and closing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and establish credibility with prospects and partners.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience in referral-based sales, SaaS, fintech, or merchant services.
