Shift5 is seeking a Field Marketing Contractor (1099) to join our growing team. This high-visibility role is responsible for owning Shift5’s field marketing program, from creation of the strategy to on site execution and post-event follow-up, in support of revenue and business development goals. In this role, you’ll help drive and refine the revenue strategy in the field through event, industry, and association membership execution within the B2G and commercial rail, aviation, and maritime sectors. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive field and events strategy and management plan that is aligned to company strategy, pipeline targets, and revenue goals, from budgeting, resourcing, planning, communication, as well as pre- and post-event execution
  • Create and execute demand generation strategies that reliably build Shift5’s brand and influence pipeline for our B2G and commercial rail, aviation, and maritime sectors
  • Research, plan and maintain Shift5’s calendar of live and online events. This includes: third party industry conferences, tradeshows, regional networking events, workshops, virtual roundtables and sponsored podcasts and webinars
  • Support customer acquisition, retention and upsell, and revenue booking targets 
  • Pitch subject matter experts to speak at events, and curate content for our own hosted events (eg. panels, fireside chats, etc.)
  • Manage all event inventory, including vendor management, shipping, logistics, and ordering of new assets
  • Attend all major trade shows and provide on-site support, from build out to tear down
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors, event organisers, and associations
  • Provide administrative support to Shift5’s memberships and associations program
  • Build a strong partnership with revenue, product, and mission success leadership and work collaboratively with the rest of the GTM and mission success teams
  • Understand what activities are meaningful to the business and appropriately prioritize requests from sales and other stakeholders

This person will report to the Director, GTM Operations and will collaborate closely with the entire revenue organization. A successful candidate must be a self-starter and executor, a problem solver with strong critical thinking and communication skills, and possess the ability to balance autonomy and responsibility with partnership and collaboration. 

This is a hybrid position but must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in field marketing, demand generation, or event marketing.
  • Previous experience managing budgets, tracking ROI and analyzing marketing events, programs and metrics
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a proactive “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Previous experience working in field marketing, demand generation, or event marketing within a defense technology, law enforcement technology, or cybersecurity company.
  • Previous B2G experience (specifically within the federal civilian or DoD verticals.)
