Who You Are
The EHS&S Administrator is eager to learn a variety of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) disciplines and will help maintain compliance to local, federal, and Sila standards and regulations. You have at least 6 years of administrative experience in a professional or academic setting. You will work across the organization to support a variety of EHS&S programs. There is an opportunity to learn many EHS&S disciplines as they apply to the chemical manufacturing industry.
This is a temporary contract opportunity expected to last through February 2027
Responsibilities and Duties
- Audits: hazardous waste areas, spill kits, fire extinguishers, and AEDs
- Respiratory Protection: schedule and coordinate respirator fit tests
- Industrial Hygiene: calibrating IH equipment
- Chemical management: maintain chemical inventory and compliance to ensure inspection readiness
- Experience conducting a chemical inventory
- Digitalizing and developing EHS&S training (content provided)
- Support scheduling of in-person trainings, approve completed trainings in tracking system
- Update and maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
- Triage incoming EHS&S requests via EHS&S Task Management Application (Asana)
- Prepare communication materials via intranet, email, Gchat, etc.
- Schedule trainings
- Manage EHS&S trainings through Quickbase
- EHS&S Document control management
- Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the EHS&S team
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must have general computer literacies in order to successfully navigate the various IT platforms and EHS&S organizational tools used to manage EHS operation and day-to-day functions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with different team members
- Ability to coordinate and schedule with third party vendors
- Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly program requirements with little oversight
- Action oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection daily
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
- Walk moderate distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Reach low shelves or items on the floor
- Climb stairs or over containment walls
- Handling of a range of material quantities
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm
The starting base pay for this role is between $40/hr and $60/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime.
